Netflix

I love Netflix, you love Netflix, we all love Netflix!

And seeing as Netflix has SO much stuff on it, I'm always struggling to figure out what to watch next. So I thought we could have a general discussion to swap recommendations!

What tv shows do you love? Films? Netflix originals? What are you waiting impatiently to start?

Personally, I am lost now that The Good Place has finished and absolutely can't wait for Queer Eye season 3 to start.

Until then, though? I'm lost. Tell me what to watch!

FearlessLeader19 02-24-2019 10:40 PM

I've not been feeling Netflix for a while because they've cancelled all the Marvel shows, the most recent being The Punisher and Jessica Jones. Its not fully their fault but I've been feeling the resentment  So, yes. I'm recommending the Superhero shows, most notably Daredevil

MunchyBubbles 02-24-2019 11:05 PM

I’ve been loving Documentaries on there like 6 days out, and cooking shows, The Great British Bake off is pretty much my happy show! Nailed it is hilarious and The Final Plate is pretty fun as well! I’d give those a try if you like cooking/baking shows.

natekka 02-24-2019 11:19 PM

Me and my housemates were watching The Great British Bake Off at one point recently. :lol: And I literally cannot WAIT for the season of Queer Eye to come out. I love that show with ALL MY HEART. ;________;

As for TV shows or films I would recommend, I don't knoooow. Hmm. The Umbrella Academy, for sure! To All The Boys I've Loved Before is a really sweet film. Brooklyn Nine-Nine...although the most recent season isn't up (at least not in the UK)...which reminds me, I suppose these suggestions are only useful for people in the UK, unless your country also has them up. James Acaster's Repertoire is hilarious! Other shows: Grimm, Riverdale, Death in Paradise, iZombie. I'm literally just scrolling through my currently watching and watch agains. :xd:

SO...Japanese Netflix doesn't have all the same things (no Great British Bake Off here sadly) but I am a SUCKER for all the cooking and baking shows. Nailed It is super refreshing (being able to laugh at your own mistakes? Yes pls) and recently I've been binging the Big Family Cooking Showdown. Zumbo's Just Desserts is really wooooooooow with all the whimsical delights and Million Pound Menu was interesting as well.

Also really enjoyed Dear White People

*could ramble some more but leaves it here for now*

MunchyBubbles 02-27-2019 10:13 PM

I loved Zumbo’s Just Deserts, Zumbo is Also a judge on Sugar Rush, which I really liked as well! It’s another baking competition!

I’m also watching Marie Kondo’s Tidying Up, which is.. super good!

The Haunting of Hill House is my personal favorite. It's one of those rare horror series that manages to be as uplifting as it is scary. You really care for the characters. Or at least I did. :xd:

I totally agree with you there I have started watching that series as well oh have you seen on Netflix Outlaw king or the Lost Kingdom?

Ginevra 02-28-2019 01:07 PM

I love Russian Doll so much!! I have binged watched the show about twelve times already. The concept is really imaginative. Natasha Lyonne as Nadia is fantastic! I'm also getting into The Umbrella Academy. One Day At a Time is really great in representing various social topics. I used to really love Riverdale but now I'm not as big of a fan.

Daemon 03-08-2019 08:27 PM

^ I've been meaning to watch Russian Doll, it's on my list! Specifically because I love Natasha Lyonne so much (tbh, who doesn't).

Has anyone seen The OA? I just finished it and @__@ wow that was a complicated, convoluted plot lemme tell ya. The second season is apparently coming out on the 22nd of March and I'll probably be watching. I like the concepts that are explored in the show, despite its inherent weirdness.

PhoenixRising 03-09-2019 08:49 AM

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Jane the Virgin are two that I'm impatiently waiting on more episodes for :whaa:

Just started watching- as in season one - of Grace and Frankie ...

New Girl is pretty cool too. I finished that one finally lol.

(I watch like five shows at once so it takes me forever to finish lol)

MunchyBubbles 03-12-2019 05:17 AM

I’m currently catching up on the British Bake off!

I am so upset they cancelled Jessica Jones. I LOVED that show, especially the first season and seeing David Tenant as the villain. I'm yet to watch The Punisher but I will because I love Ben Barnes!

JAMES ACASTER'S REPERTOIRE.

SO funny. Honestly I think I developed abs just from how much I laughed.

I still need to watch the Umbrella Academy, though. Which I will do.

My sister raves about this so it's on my watch list. I'm so excited because I love horror stuff, and the fact that everyone really loves the characters and gets invested in the story way beyond the horror is quite endearing and unique!

MunchyBubbles 03-17-2019 05:41 PM

I just finished Marie Condo’s Tidying Up, which is so fun! And I spoiled the end of Bake off so now I don’t want to watch it!

I’m on to Queer eye now though! ^_^

Harron Peasley 03-24-2019 07:26 PM

Queer Eye Season 3 was emotional.

candy Rulez 04-05-2019 02:33 PM

I have just finished watching BirdBox and to tell you the truth Sandra Bullock acted very good has any one else seen it?

DeanThomassSpectacle 04-05-2019 09:15 PM

Well, after hearing so much about it for years I decided to give Grey's Anatomy a shot (and also my sister has seen like every episode).

I like the content, but most of the characters are so terrible. I want to see them fail.

Queer Eye is always so emotional. I love watching the show so much.

I binge-watched the entire second season of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Friday and I loved it. They have improved on the first season which is saying something considering how good that season was.

if anyone in the US has some Netflix tv show suggestions, I - for one - would not be upset. :sup:

I like sci-fi, fantasy, true crime, anime, good/bad horror and old movies. :loved:

If you haven't watched the Magicians that is a great one! I had to jump to my youtube tv to get the fourth season because I couldn't wait until it came to Netflix and now I'm stuck for a year until the fifth season.

candy Rulez 06-01-2019 02:03 PM
