“Look, don’t take this the wrong way, Tonks…” Gryffindor prefect Rebecca Chapman put her hands on her hips, and Tonks’ stomach sunk. There was never anyway to take something that started like that aside from the wrong way.

“Yes?” She fingered the hole in her textbook and gave the older girl a wide-eyed look.

“Well, it’s just that…” She took a deep breath, gathering her courage. “You can’t practice your spells in the Common Room anymore.” It all came out in one rush of air.

“I have to practice somewhere,” she squeaked.

“Are there any steel-plated classrooms?” Rebecca offered helpfully.
