Clara kissed both cheeks of her Grandma Belle. "You know I'll write," she laughed and hugged her once more. "Safe trip home." Clara watched them turn and leave and heaved a sigh of relief. It'd been a very long morning and the sooner she got to her compartment and fell into the peaceful rhythm of the train, the better. She scribbled down the exact time and approached the platform.
"Head Boy, huh?" Clara asked Doyle as she passed, scribbling that down as well. He was going to rub the letters off it before the term was over, she'd wager. "Let me be the first to say congratulations. I can't wait to see the look on Coop's face when he finds out. Or Walt for that matter. Mind if I stay and watch?" Clara smiled and took a seat beside him, her notebook open on her lap. |
