Hello!!!how is everyone? I start my first day at work tomoz at Morrisons supermrket, well nervous
Anyhow here is my next post which i wasn't planing on posting today but hay Im kin like that not letting you all wait in suspence and drama!! so...VOILA!! The Knight Bus
Severus and his mother made their way out of the front door, Severus still in shock about the day’s events. His mind kept wondering back to the fridge, which had now become his step father’s cold grave. Yet somehow he felt free and even better he was no longer afraid, no longer scared about being a child. His mother beamed beside him as they walk down the slowly darkening Rushome Street.
“Just a bit further” his mother said, they turned a corner into a deserted side street. She stopped so suddenly, that Severus lost in new hope walk right by her not realizing until she called out to him.
“Severus where are you going” said his mother sternly.
Sverus stopped and turned to see his mother raising her wand in her right hand. Before Severus could even think about questioning her action, he heard a low rumble that seemed to be growing faster and loader.
Out of nowhere a huge, purple, triple decker bus skidded to a halt in front of them, its front tiers barley missing the curb. The doors opened with a squeak and out jumped a young man of about 19, with dark hair, a few freckles, wearing a conductor’s uniform complete with ticket dispenser.
“Good evening and welcome aboard the Knight Bus, my name is Ernie and I’ll be ya conductor this evening.” He finally drew deep breath and beamed down at them.
“We would like to go to Diagon Alley” Eileen said.
“Rigtio, that u’ll be 17 sickles for the pair ov ya’s, step on board ‘n’ al sort ya’s out” he said cheerfully walking back onto the bus and ushering them to follow.
The first thing Severus saw was the old driver who looked as though one more round might finish him. He was leaning on the wheel squinting at the ‘give way’ sign at the end of the road.
“Ah this is Fred ya driver” said Ernie
“How do you do?” Eileen said politely “I’m Eileen Snape and this is my son Severus.”
“Good evening m’am, sir” crocked Fred tapping his purple drivers cap.
Ernie showed Eileen and Severus to a pair of mismatched armchairs; Severus’ was floral like something his grandmother would have, if indeed he had a grandmother.
Once they were seated and Eileen had paid, digging to the darkest depths of her purse to do so, they set off at what felt like the speed of light. There was a load bang, Severus looked out of the window to see what had exploded but he found they were not on fire in fact they were not in Rushome any more but what appeared to be Scotland.
They raced down Scottish country lanes; tree’s and bushes dived out of the way so they would not be squashed. Severus and his mother slid up and down, side to side in their armchairs. His mother was turning a more florescent green with every slide.
Severus’ chair spun a whole 360 turn in the middle of the aisle, as it turned he noticed they were not alone on their journey. Three rows behind them were a middle aged women dressed in orange robes and what appeared to be a muggle pink, towel dressing gown. She was casually knitting as her blue armchair slid from one side of the aisle back. There was also an old man of about 60 also in robes (minus the dressing gown), with his head in his wife’s hand bag who of which was sat beside him looking disgusted and slightly green, with the contents of her handbag on her lap.
Severus’ chair came to an unsteady halt as the bus came to a sudden stop. Three witches all looking a bit peaky descended the stairs and nearly fell over them selves to get off the bus.
There was another BANG as the bus came speeding up a road which seemed to be in Cornwall somewhere. The rest of the journey was one sicky blur to Severus and his mother. As more and more ill passengers got off the bus they became closer to their stop in London. Ernie often sat in front of Eileen and tried to strike up a conversation, however it was in vain as Eileen could not reply because of the fear of being sick all over poor Ernie.
Finally the bus gave another immense BANG; Severus looked out of the window to see they were in London at last.........
Another short but sweet passage. hope you liked it!
