“What about Charlie?” asked Sirius, looking down at the book in his hands. It contained baby names; now that James and I were sure that it was a boy, we wanted to find the most suiting name for our son.

“Er… no,” said James simply, taking the book out of his best friend’s hands. He closed his eyes, randomly flipped to a page, and pointed. “Sherman?”

“No,” I answered quickly, eyes wide. “All right, I can feel it. This next one will be it.” I did the same thing James did, took a deep breath, and opened my eyes. After following my finger to the words, I sighed, relieved. “Harry.”

“Harry? Harry Potter?” laughed Sirius. “He sounds like an overweight Muggle in a pottery store.”

James shoved Sirius, but he couldn’t help but to smile.

“Well, I like it,” I replied huffily. “Harry James Potter.”

“You know… it does kind of have a ring to it,” said James thoughtfully, rubbing his chin. “Harry James Potter…”

“And we present to you, Harry James Potter, born July 31st, 1980,” Sirius read proudly off of a certificate.

James sighed and took my hand in his. I was lying in a bed in the hospital, and it was six hours after birth. “We’re officially parents now.”

“Are you scared?”

“A little.”

“As am I,” Sirius smiled weakly, taking a seat next to the other side of my bed. “Not long ago our biggest concern was making sure we didn’t arrive late to Dumbledore’s class. Now I'm a Godfather, you’re both parents… and we’re all normal by day, fighting crime by night.”

“If we’re normal then I'm scared,” said a voice from the doorway, and I turned to see Marie.

“Oh,” I cried. I couldn’t move but she did what I wanted and wrapped me in a hug. “I haven’t seen you in so long. How’s the Ministry coming?”

“Good,” she replied, letting go a little. “A couple of leads here and there… Peter and I have been seeing a lot of each other, so it’s not so bad... He keeps me company… Now we just need Remus back…”

“Well, your wish is my command,” said a deep voice.

Marie spun around so quickly that I thought she was going to fall. Remus stood there, grinning despite his shabby robes. She gasped and threw herself into his arms.

“So how’s work been?” Sirius asked, clapping Remus on the back. I was finally allowed to get up and walk around again the next day. We’d stumbled down to the cafeteria (though the nurses wanted to bring my food to me) to get some tea and cakes.

“Tiring,” he replied honestly, running his fingers through Marie’s hair. “And now I smell like a dog.”

“And you didn’t before?” laughed Sirius.

“Yes, well, you don’t have much room to talk, Padfoot.”

“I missed you, mate.”

“And I missed you.” He lowered his voice a little to make sure that they weren’t overheard. “I get to leave my… work… for a while. My… er… co-workers think I'm heading toward Romania.”

“How long?” questioned Marie.

“About a month. I don’t have a place to stay though…”

“You can crash at our house,” James said promptly. “I mean… after all… it is sort of yours, too. It’s good to have you back, Moony.”

“It’s good to be back.”
