I do see it possible that Sirius may have been attracted to Lily, but perhaps it was nothing more than that. And, if he really did show off more when she was around, perhaps it was a little "friendly" competition between him and James. Even if Sirius didn't care whether or not Lily liked him, perhaps the whole point was to have her like him rather than James, since James was so intent on having her like
him.

Remember, they were family, and I think that was all the bond Sirius needed at this time in his life.
