I was going to have a thread on Neville myself because his role was extend in GOF movie and that fact alone should have rung huge gong in any Harry Potter fan's brain with regurad the information we have on him as the other choice Voldy could have made! Neville is second chosen one, he is the spare, Harry is the heir!

Neville as a charcter has a huge level of maturity for his age because of his parents!

Neville has I think huge inner strenght and bravery "even more to stand up to your friends" Dumbldore PS.

I have had thought about his role in book seven and this it.

First I think him and Bella Lestrange have to fight and Neville will win.

He is a bigger and stronger person than she will ever be. Example in book five in MOM when he said to Harry "Do not give it to them" he was perpared to die from a the torture curse or suffer his parents fate to save the information in a orb. That is how Brave Neville is and he do not know what the information was or how useful it was!! This alone Speeks volumes!

Second I think him and Snape have to fight and Neville will lose his fight. Snape is Harry's fight I think they have a stronger connection. Snape and Neville have a connection.Snape is bullied Neville to make him a better wizards I think.

I have a theory Draco was the boy who was chosen to kill the huge good wizard DD and Harry is the boy who is chosen to kill the huge evil wizard Voldy.

But Snape in the end killed DD and I think Neville will kill Voldy instead of Harry because Harry is to close to his subject.
He and Voldy have a connection which will prove to work to Voldy advantages as Harry feels a connected with him. Voldy does for some reason returns it in a warp way.

Neville I think will kill him. Neville comes from a less conflicted place.

Harry is a burnt soul, Neville is a tortured soul.
Voldy did not order the torture of Longbottoms, he would have killed them straight after a hard fight Neville parents were auros after all!

It was done by the deatheater's to try and find there master.
Neville is fighting for his parents sanity and his own.

Harry is fighting because of revenage, which is a bad place to come from if your killing and can damage the soul more. Fighting hate with hate is never good, as Barty Crouch Senior show us!

Neville is one step removed from Voldy.

He is one of his innocent victims who he personally did not try and kill yet because of him he is affected.

Voldy try to kill his parents three times and failed. In time he may have come after Neville but there was no need to so Neville became an after thought!

Whatever Neville's role is, he has his own wand now and is becomeing his own person out of the shadow of his father!
Just picture Neville Grans face when in the end it turns out to be Neville that removed the Dark Lord not Harry Potter! She would be so proud and happy!

Neville will at he end of this series be his own man in control over his life not his Gran. Neville also looks like his mother (they share the same round face) could it be he takes after her not his father?

Look at the subjects he is good at DADA, Charms and Herbolgy.
Neville is good at wand magic e.g. charms, DADA, very good for duels

Herbolgy the art of making plants grow. Neville is making himself grow like a plant, love that image!

Lilly was also good at Charms it saved her sons life. Charms is a good subject to be good at.

Neville's Owl Results show this, Charms E, DADA E and Herbology O.

The subject about growth is what Neville is best.

Neville has undergone great personal growth from being a shy bumbleing boy to quiet, strong, extremly brave wizard who Harry and others can count on when it matters!
An other point Neville Longbottom got an O in Owls where as Ron did not !

Neville I think would make a great DADA professor in the future !!

Not that any of this should surpiese us as we alway knew Neville was made of tough stuff!

I have always had a soft spot for Neville Longbottom!
It would be worse than Cedric's death if Neville dies as he has learned and grown so much in this series like a plant!
Neville just need to believe in himself and have some encouragement ! Instead of critism that he gets from his Gran and Snape!
