It wasn't accepted for validation. Please review the FF rules (either in The FF Rules in Gringotts Wizarding Bank and make sure you didn't overlook something that kept it from being validated. Once you're sure your thread complies with the rules, re-submit. The FF staff are pretty good about moderating new threads several times per day. If it doesn't show up within 36 hours, there's probably a reason.

Please read the Fan Fiction rules. You do not get notified if your fic isn't validated, and please give the Mods a chance to get to it. We're pretty good at processing new fiction threads, but it could wait as long as two days sometimes. (That rarely happens). You should check it over and make sure it complies with the rules and resubmit it only if it hasn't shown up in more than two days.

Thanks.

I changed that recently (don't know the date, specifically) to unify the Fan Fiction department. The Restricted Section Finished Fics was open to replies but the Grimmauld Place Finished Fics forum was not. Since I like a nice, tidy ship, I closed the RS Finished forum to new replies so that it doesn't need as much energy to moderate. Of course, I did this at a time when I was a bit short-staffed, but really, there's no need to keep it open to new comments. Members can always PM new comments to authors, if they feel the need.

Hi there! Staff do not PM members when a thread is validated or declined.

My advice whenever this happens is to consult The FF Rules and make sure your thread complies with them. Make sure you have a rating in the title (see the rules for the guide to rating your fic) and that you've proof-read your work and used proper english spelling (US and UK spellings accepted), punctuation and grammar (we do not validate threads written in chatspeak or leet). Make sure your content isn't too mature and that the rating you're giving it is appropriate for the maturity of content.

Once you're sure your thread complies with the rules, please submit it again and we'll help you get it onto the forums as soon as possible.

I posted a story call "lord voldemorts daughter" about two days ago, and its still not posted, i went over the rules 6 times, and followed them perfectly, i check my spelling 5 times, and I dont understand why it hasnt been posted yet! i've done everything i could think of... so whats wrong?

I can't remember if it was yours, precisely, but one recent thread in the CP had a complete lack of proper paragraph structure. Everything was smooshed together into one big paragraph and I was unable to make time to fix it for the member who submitted it. If you're concerned it might have been yours, I highly recommend a beta reader. You can find one in the SS Beta Readers Thread. Try submitting again and we'll try and get this fic up for you as soon as possible.

A few days ago, i posted a fic called "A pleasant surprise" anddd... tis not here... it follows all the rules and everything.. so, uh... why cant I see it?

It's possible that it didn't reach the control panel, though this hasn't happened since the site upgrade. Make sure you review the FF rules again and make sure you've caught everything. Here are the most common problems that prevent a fic being validated:

1. No rating in the title. (The ratings guide is located in the The FF Rulesthread)
2. Abundance of improper spelling, punctuation or grammar (Don't forget to proof read, and get a Beta Reader if you need help)
3. Profanity or other inappropriate content. (Again, make sure your fic follows The FF Rules and the ratings guide, and that the maturity of your content fits the rating you gave it.)

Once you're confident it's all good, please post again and we'll get your new thread up for you ASAP.
