I think any age is acceptable. Personally, I started reading the books in 99. I was er (counts) 12. But barely....maybe I started near the end of 98. Anyway, I was no where near interested in hp when I was eleven, but back then I was also a cover looker. I saw and ugly kid riding a broomstick and it was a no go. My mom told me I should read it. So, at age 11, I picked the book up off the shelf, went home, read the first chapter, then put it away. A few MONTHS later, I picked it up again. By time I finished the three, it was only a month or two away from GoF coming out. Now I'll be 15 when Harry is. That makes me happy.
