Camping Area Ah the camping grounds. Your World Cup experience isn't complete until you've pitched your tent alongside thousands of other World Cup patrons. Better grab a spot quick, all the good ones tend to go fast, and you'll wanna leave yourself enough room between yours and the other tents. |
Rachie/Lili! Nicola's parents (read: mum) were against the idea of their daughter camping out for the world cup. Initially, at least. It was easier to convince her dad, who was a big fan of football and he knew that it was all part of the fan club experience. Her mum, on the other hand and Mrs. Jarvis being the mum that she was, took about three working days before she finally obliged. Well, they did let Nico go all the way to Italy and Paris with her girlfriend all in one summer. The quidditch world cup shouldn't be any different. Besides, she was enjoying Hawkleberry's company way too much. The hassle of being in an entirely crowded event was the least of her problems! After settling down and placing all the magical safety measures (which she practices a lot for, by the way) around her area, Nico slipped out of her charmed tent and sat by the entrance with her sketchpad on her lap. The Hufflepuff was trying to draw inspiration from the world cup for her art portfolio. Imagine the vibrant colours and paints she could use for this! |

She'd been looking forward to the quidditch world cup for so long, and the final was finally here. England were going to rock, and she couldn't wait to watch. She was also so glad that her Mama had let them camp for the final game. It made the experience even better. She'd hung her England scarf by her bed, and was currently walking around trying to spot some friends. She had her Under 17 hoodie on of course. Had to represent the team for as long as she could. The blonde beamed as she spotted a familiar face, and made her way over to her. [b]"Nico! Hi!"[b] |
Quote:
She scribbled down her ideas on the topmost corner of her sketchpad just in case she forgot about them, which she usually did. Nico also considered her personal deadlines for her portfolio too because she had a lot of other requirements to think about. Life after Hogwarts, she realized, was kind of scary. Before she could overwhelm herself, Nico heard a familiar voice from afar and she looked up to see that it was Lili. Her friend's presence came as no surprise to her because she knew the blond was a Quidditch fan and the new U-17 captain. "Hiiii Lili! Come sit with me!" she beamed at the Gryffindor before scooting to the side and patting on the space on the blanket beside her. "I like your hoodie!" She was dressed for the occasion, indeed! |
Despite her mother's intentions, Mary was here to see the World Cup. Her sister, Martha, had tried to get mom to let her go, but mom wouldn't budge, so Martha just took her in the middle of the night. Josh was here too, because he had gotten time off. Of course, Martha being a quidditch player herself, the seats were free. Mary sat on the front step of the family tent, reading an Astronomy book. She had gotten it in Diagon Alley earlier that week with Martha. The tent looked very much like a muggle tent on the outside, except for these very steps. The inside was different. It had a full bathroom, a kitchen, and two bedrooms. One for her and Martha; one for Josh. Martha stood silently in the doorway of the tent, watching over her sister. Mary was not supposed to be here(according to muggle law anyway), so she had to be extra careful. She kinda felt bad for taking her, especially with no explanation, but this was an opportunity she didn't want Mary to miss. Josh was inside making dinner and she could smell the food from out here. She wanted to go inside and see what he was making, but she had to make sure nobody posed a threat to her sister. |
Zara Jones, open post! This is the Zara Jones' tent was a sight to behold. She'd spent almost an entire month's salary on it, and then two solid weeks renovating and decorating. The entire structure was coloured like one big rainbow, and lots of pride flags were stuck onto all the sharp bits. Flowers surrounded the base, of all colours and sizes, and glittery smoke spouted from the makeshift chimney she'd had a friend charm for her. And that was just the outside. Within, Zara had turned the majority of the tent into one big kitchen, with three ovens and a massive fridge, into which she'd stored a ridiculous amount of already baked cookies, as well as enough dough to feed the entire encampment. Sure, there were food stalls that people could go to, but she'd be sending out little trays of quaffle cupcakes, snidget brownies and bludger muffins with a kick to them! Yes! Zara was bringing her exuberant kitchen to Quidditch World Cup and no one could stop her! Not even all her friends who said it was a terrible idea!!! "COOKIES! CUPCAKES, BROWNIES AND MUFFINS!!!!!" Zara chanted as she emerged from her tent for the fifth time today with a fresh batch, paint on her cheeks and flour on her clothes. She had her baggy jean overalls, her cute yellow crop top (HUFFLEPUFF REPRESENT), sunflowers in her hair and a BIG, BIG SMILE. Her friends were all scheduled to arrive, or they said they would, or they might have cancelled but honestly Zara could not remember, she had VIP tickets to the game, she was IN HER ELEMENT, and everything was GOOD, everything was QUIDDITCH. |
Lawra Beau was SOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED TO BE HERE. Forget all of the sads he had had this summer or this year or ever in his life because ENGLAND had MADE THE BLOODY FINAL IN THE QUIDDITCH WORLD CUP AND HE HAD CAMPING TICKETS. He'd made sure that he knew exactly where his family tent was, but also where his cousins tent was (because they'd probably end up sleeping in the same tent to be honest) and that's where he was heading right now. RIGHT NOW. He unzipped the door and burst through it. "HELLO STEMP FAMILY. HELLO AUNTIE LORI. HELLO HELLO. I NEED SPARRRRRRRROW." And not Liberty. K thanks. "SPAR. MATE. C'mon. Let's go SEEEE the quidditch lovin' girls around here! THEY'RE IN SHORTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" And there might even be some super duper fit players around too. OMG. Beau was going to pass out. |
Quote:
Not that he couldn't look after Afrika, but legal business and whatnot. And terrible memories of terrible boyfriends. BUT he was about to get up and go and find Beau, whose tent was definitely close by because of course it was when he heard the distinctive voice. And so instead he just barrelled out into the main part of the tent, hair tousled. "BEAU. 'IYA." He blinked a few times, trying to work out what Beau was saying and keep up because merlin did he talk quickly and not make a lot of sense sometimes. AHA. "YEAH. BYE MUM. SEE YOU LATER," he called out to the room at large, tugging Beau's sleeve toward the entrance he'd just burst through. Before his mother could remind him he had a girlfriend and shouldn't look at other Quidditch-loving girls even if he was just LOOKING and being a SUPPORTIVE COUSIN. |

Mercy had just spent some time at the Carden camp and was still amazed Max got out of coming here. Though seriously he would not have liked it with so many people around even if Bel came also. Now Mercy was kind of dressed up in England colors and maybe a rainbow hair tie. She had promised to get Al and Evie something and that what was what she was doing even tho they could really ask but anyway. Mercy was walking around holding a book like normal and amazed at fights breaking out and people betting already. Interesting experience indeed. She couldnt help be anxious walking alone through all this but here she was and look at her walking and not freezing up. She heard someone loudly yelling cupcakes and brownies and as she looked over she remembered her from Daisy's wedding. A really fun time that was dancing and Nico and well trolling Nico and then arcade games. Ahem, think she was the maid of honor. The name was escaping her something with a Z. The Sixth Year Carden made her way over to the Z's rainbow tent and the food. Speaking softly as usual which could be a problem here but really she never could speak loudly "Are these better than the ones at the wedding?" |
Open post! Um...duh Archer was here. She'd have to be absolutely lying in bed dying somewhere to not be here. And yes, it was just her. Her first by herself trip. And thankfully, it was a big gathering of fellow magical people, so her glamping tent was most definitely allowed. Actually, glamping might not be the right word for it. It was more like a mobile apartment that just happened to resemble a giant tent on the outside. Either way, it was large enough to sleep a family of four comfortably, and she had it ALL TO HERSELF. Never mind that she had to return it in its original shape since her mom had borrowed it from someone at work, did she mention that it was large and she had it all to herself? You know what that meant, right? HOUSE (tent) PARTY! Which meant that she was running around, trying to find people she recognized from Hogwarts (and maybe the other schools too) and telling them about it (there might be fliers involved, too). House party! One person who wasn't happy about being here was Ronan. Unfortunately for him, events such as the Quidditch World Cup required huge amounts of security and as an auror-in-training, he'd been roped into helping provide said security. No matter his interest, or lack thereof, in Quidditch. At least he'd gotten assigned to the campgrounds? And he got to go home after his shift was over, thanks to apparation. Still, left him exactly zero time to go out and do things he did enjoy. For a solid month. Was this whole thing almost over yet? |
Free post if anyone wants an old Potion master! Art was 69, but he still felt as spry and bouncy as he did when he was 29! No arthritis for him, and even his dear Madam Curie was going strong, if not a little more grey than before. He had set up a small tent in a cluster with his family - his three brothers, and various members of their own families had come to celebrate the Quidditch World Cup. It was unfortunate that Norway hadn't made it, although he wasn't much of a Quidditch fanatic - not nearly as much as his brother anyway. And whilst he wished to cheer both teams on, he had decided to stay with the country that he now called home, he was going to cheer for England. |

Or at least she liked to hope they did. Alfie certainly knew all of her friends, at least by name. "You here alone? Have something!" the twenty two year old gestured at the trays filled with baked goods hovering around them. "Isn't this REALLY exciting??" The Quidditch World Cup and all that!! |

With a grin, Beau grabbed a snack or five from the food table, kissed his Aunt's cheek and headed out with Spar on his arm. "Mate, you gotta stop holdin' me. Peeps are gonna think we're an item. And that's more than weird." So he tugged his arm away and offered one of the snacks he had grabbed. "I hope your Mum is in charge of food for this camping trip. My Mum is only thinking about all the players she knows and can tell about her new surname." Vom vom and vom. Beau was already over it, of course. He didn't even care that she had gotten remarried or that she still wanted a new baby when he was supposed to be her baby. No, no, not bothered at all. "aLRIGHT. So. I'm thinkin' that we find a lass or five and we follow 'em around. But we could ALWAYS get my skateboard and skate on the floor to see things better." He was full of the best ideas. "And we don't mention Evie or Afrika. Ite?" |
Quote:
"Hi Zara, im with the family but just going for a walk right now..was looking for friends and things to buy for Al and Evie" Not really food which guess they would like also. Ahh, well guess she had to take something and ok maybe too many choices so she just picked a rainbow frosted cupcake with her free hand. "You really love quidditch or just the atmosphere?" Because the tent is something nobody would miss. |
Quote:
Then the brunette laughed, and glanced back at her little corner of the camping ground. "Both? I love having reasons to celebrate, and I've been a Quidditch fan for forever," she nodded with a grin, eyes sparkling, "even back in America, where it's not as popular. Ask Daisy, she'll back me up. Always been Quidditch obsessed." Zara turned to hand random passersby some cupcakes, beaming with delight as she tattled off her name to them. Zara's Baked Goods! But with a better name. "You a big Quidditch fan, Mercy?" |
Quote:
She looked over to where she was pointing and deflated real quick because that was a lot of people and a pretty big crowd...maybe later. "Maybe later...for that..." Oh, that was nice of her. She figures Al and Evie might be bored unless Jorgie is here She started taking off the cupcakes wrapper? and take small bites of it and had to admit she liked Zara's baking. She was a quidditch fan which explained things. "Who are you rooting for?" She shook her head since the sixth year claw was being honest. "I dont really like sports much. But I appreciate the atmosphere and well watch the highest level of a sport is interesting" Which was such a Nova answer but she believed it also. |
Where in tarnation was he?? One minute ol' Archie was doing his civic duty in helping clean up the local park, and the next minute......well, he wasn't quite sure what happened!! The last he remembered, he was collecting discarded aluminum cans from the ground to be recycled and when he picked up a particularly unusual looking one, he felt a strange jolt, like he was being pulled by some invisible force through time and space. Something like in one of those newfangled science fiction programmes. He even lost his cane in the process! And now, somehow Archie was on the ground and in a completely unfamiliar place. Tents as far as the eye could see, so some sort of campground? Slowly, the old man tried to get his bearings and struggled to get to his feet. He turned towards the sound of a young woman offering her baked goods. That might not be half bad. "I could do with a muffin. Bran, preferably." And he really needed his cane. |

Most times like today, the YATI was assigned to be around the stand arena. She was about to start her shift after taking her daily medication and saw her fellow YATI (a year below her) looking so uptight and didn't spark any joy unlike the other people around here. "Not a fan of this assignment, I assume." She said, trying to ease the situation. Quote:
"Professor Newton!" She greeted the old man. Even though he's no longer the professor but he's always been for her. That guy was her former potion master and also her head of house when she was still a spunky teenage Gryffindor girl. "It's Ava Burton, sir. I was your student, a Gryffindor." Just in case the old man had forgotten since it's been a long time she saw him. Probably on the last day of her fifth year or so, she didn't recall. Quote:
Probably she should report this to her supervisor. |
Quote:
"Bring them over then! And that's only on the outside, I've got all my baking stuff on the inside, you can tell them I need professional bowl-cleaners," certainly no child could turn down licking bowls clean right? She'd loved it. She still loves it. "I'm rooting for a good game. And that's a good reason as any to swing by. Where's your friend? From the wedding?" Zara didn't want to assume she had been her girlfriend, even though she was.. pretty sure. Quote:
It never once occured to the muggleborn that a muggle himself had managed to arrive at the Quidditch camp. |
Quote:
"I will try later..is it like a actually bakery inside of it. Or is it just as colorful and amazing inside as well?" Did she mention she liked the rainbows. Honestly with magic its possible tho doubt Al would want to be here cleaning bowls even if you twisted it. Friend?? Dont think any of her...oh she was talking about Nicola. "And sell some good sweets..right? Oh Nicola right....she is my girlfriend...she is here with a friend of hers i dont know and haven't met up yet." Honestly she should have learned not to blush by now saying that since its almost been a year by now. They really didn't have plans to and well that just sounds weird so she said that. Tho she did have plans to meet with Emma and Alanna and just had to find them either at the Dakest or Botros tent. Mercy was just going to ignore the old man and hope it all works out for him. Less involved the better for her and she hated getting involved because resulted in more talking. And to be fair the quidditch world cup was making her want to by books on the history of it. |
Open post! Conley was wandering back to his tent for a respite from walking through the merchandise tents. He wanted a quick nap before the game; after all, one didn’t know how long the game would go right? He didn’t want it be a quick game, but he also hoped that it wouldn’t be like the history-making 3 month long game. Whistling happily to himself with his hands his pockets, Conley weaved his way around the tents. He muttered happy ‘hellos’ to various peoples he passed. It was nice to see that everyone's hard work was paying off. Things seemed to be going smoothly and it was nice for the department head to finally relax a little. |

"Speak up, missy!" Archie grumbled loudly at her as he passed by. "Don't you know it's disrespectful to whisper about people, especially your elders, right in front of them?" The youth of today had no manners anymore. It was appalling! And if he still had his cane, he'd have shaken it at her. That would have shown her. Quote:
"Thank you kindly, miss." Did he want a what? "A what beer?" He squinted his eyes at her as he tried to make sense of her nonsensical word. Probably some new fad among the teens, or at least the ones old enough to drink. "No, no..." He waved his hand dismissively at her. "I haven't had a beer since '72. Not much of a drinker anymore." She didn't need to know about his health problems though. "A water will be just fine." Maybe he was dehydrated, because he still felt like he was hallucinating. Now, what kind of muffins were these? |
Text Cut: Muggle incident! One minute he musing on his own bad luck that England had been chosen to host the World Cup, the next he was on the verge of rubbing his eyes. Why? He was pretty sure that he was seeing one of the Muggles from that fateful day in Dufftown. The one were everything had gone pear-shaped; himself, his classmates and Professor Stewart being possessed, Melanie Williams spouting her crap about eradicating purebloods (of which he was) and the Muggle and magical living together in harmony. The memory itself was enough to make his face grow pale and his blood run cold. Were they here, the Williams'? He quickly looked around, seeing neither a bloody hawk nor any signs of anyone being possessed, thank Merlin. He was moving before Ava's whisper reached his ears. "On it." He waved his wand, casting a silent Finte on anything moving by magical means as he was approaching the Muggle then sending off two meerkat patronuses, one to Alexa and the other to the head of A&C , shoving the slim piece of wood back in its holster once he was done. "Sir, I'm going to need you to come with me," he requested, slipping one of his arms around the the old muggle's and showing him his badge. Fortunately, Ronan kept the piece of metal charmed to match the ones sported by the muggle police should anyone non-magical see it, just in case. Hopefully, Ava had followed him, because he had a bad feeling the old man wasn't going to come quietly. "May we borrow your tent?" he asked the the woman handing out baked goods, flashing his badge her direction. |
Text Cut: Mercy <3 "Oh I don't sell them! I've luckily made enough this summer to be able to afford all this and hand them out for free! All the proper food is over at the stalls, this is just for fun!" Zara said to Mercy, full of cheer. And she might have squealed, just a little bit, at the girlfriend reveal. Obviously a subject close to her hear, she was ever so happy for little Mercy and her lovely girlfriend. "That's wonderful! I'm really happy for you!" Text Cut: Muggle Mr. Greer Oh, was he hard of hearing too? She was about to repeat the offer with a bit more volume when he waved his hand. ... Was he part house elf? As far as Zara was aware, only they were sensitive to butterbeer's very low alcoholic content. "Of course, yes," Zara nodded, not wanting to pry Merlin forbid, and quickly fetched him a bottle. Text Cut: A YATI! Turning back to Mercy, Zara was about to say something but whatever it had been went flying right out out of her head as all her floating trays fell to the ground. !!! OH NO. It didn't matter that she had lots more prepared, this is such a waste of food! ... Would people still eat it? The grass here wasn't that filthy yet......... Huh? Zara blinked at the muggle police badge, which she easily recognised, and was shocked when the badge was turned to her and it instead featured the DMLE's logo. Law enforcement?? Who is this man? Perhaps he was polyjuiced?! It would be JUST her luck to have helped and fed a fugitive of the law. "Oh, yes, of course... I'm sorry about the mess, I was baking," Zara pointed at the entrance to her rainbow tent. Then the twenty two year old, visibly shaken, turned to her best friend's sister. "Mercy, perhaps you should go look for your family? Or your girlfriend... I'll catch up with you later?" LAST thing she needed was getting Mercy mixed up in this. Whatever it is. |
Ronan, Muggle and Zara #toolazytoquote Oopsie. The YATI was caught by the muggle about the whispering, but she said no such thing. Honestly she really wanted to laugh but it was totally inappropriate. Ava managed her straight face expression while Ronan did something: Stopping the magic all around them (including the muffin tray, honestly she feel bad for the baking girl) and sending corporeal patronuses probably to their supervisor. Could she say how fortunate her fellow YATI was here? Because even though Ava was a year older than him but up until now she hadn't been able to send a corporeal patronus yet. This wasn't her field, she was supposed to be assigned around the stands but it seemed like Ronan would need some assistance. Ava decided to follow her fellow as they were allowed to use the baking girl's tent. "Thanks, Zara." Yes, she knew her name because they were in the same year back in Hogwarts. What a time for reunion, huh? Let's just deal with this suspected muggle first and then hopefully she could be back to her post. |
