Two rather humorous articles have appeared today; one
detailing some of the sexual innuendos in '
Half-Blood Prince'.
Quote:
"These passages should be read with their context in mind. Yes, when they are read in isolation, they sound like sexual innuendoes."
-- VK Kartika of Penguin India, distributor of Harry Potter books in India
And another
detailing how Harry Potter promotes cruelty to animals.
Quote:
I mean, those books are just chock full of helpless innocent animals being transfigured into teacups and pincushions!
Quote:
Do people think that rats and ravens like being turned into water goblets? Did they even ask its permission? And half the time, those animals are poorly transfigured. What if you had to spend the rest of your life as a teacup with whiskers and a tail?
Quote:
And that's to say nothing about the poor animals used in potions and things. I mean students are crushing up beetles with mortars and pestles, slicing up grubs and caterpillars, and they are more worried about doing a poor job getting the slices even than the pain of the poor creature being sliced up! I bet they don't even use anesthetic!
Quote:
I mean, taking unicorn hairs and Phoenix feathers for wands? All right, sometimes they get the animal's permission, but other times they just pluck them and run!
