Actually, it doesn't say much for the readers if he has to clarify himself. It's their problem they misunderstood, not his. I read his first letter and understood pretty much what he meant - more importantly, I understand that he wasn't attacking anyone but the reporter.
*whole heartedly agrees*
Seriously people, Leave Pratchett alone. He's clarifying himself so he doesn't have to wade through pages of "hate mail" that would only take away from his time as a writer and not bother him at all. Seeing the posts in the last thread on this and reading the ones on here means this is a smart choice. I wouldn't want to read pages of nothing more than "you're a potato head for saying that about JK!"
For shame children. You all seem to think you're great book critics, *coughwhen you haven't read the bookscough* but can barely express yourselves. Yes, I call ALL OF YOU CHILDREN because that's exactly what you are all acting like. You think he doesn't want to read all your hate mail because it'll ruin his life News Flash, it won't. He just doesn't want to deal with people who don't know what the heck is going on. You are all responding to a response instead of looking toward the cause.
