Chapter Eight - The Flight of the Fat Lady

It is the first Hogsmeade Weekend, but Harry can't go because Uncle Vernon didn't sign his form. Instead he walks around in the castle. Professor Lupin take Harry to his office and they have a nice chat about why Harry didn't get to fight the Boggart among other things.

Later when the Halowe'en feast is over and they are to return to their common rooms; they discover that someone (Black) has tried to break into the Gryffondor common room by slashing the Fat Lady's painting. The Fat Lady has fled.
