Well what can I say? This book reminded me unpleasantly of GOF. What I mean is that it seemed more of a precurser, a prelude, a background, and especially a means to setup book 7. It seemed the mere purpose of HBP was to prepare us for book 7. So to me is seemed a little dry, but I thought the same for GOF and then I absolutely loved OOTP so I say that book 7 will probably be the best book. Now getting on to more of the reason it didn't wet my whistle. Well it seemed a bit choppy and bounced around a little much. Also it seemed to cut out life at Hogwarts almost altogether. Also it seemed that Rowling lingered a little too long on certain areas and didn't cover areas I thought she should have. I wonder if she felt rushed or simply had too much information to begin with. I personally believe that Book 7 will be much better. I guess I better reread the book maybe I will get more out of it the second time around. But it seemed that too much time was wasted with the incessant snogging and bickering between Hermione and Ron. The best part of the book in my opinion would have to be the quidditich match where Luna was commentating. Honestly the book only had glimpses of the usually humor. I get that it is suppose to be darker but it also seemed that some humor was inapporiate and inserted at akward moments. |
