| Chapter 28 – The Flight of the Prince
As Dumbledore dies, the spell upon Harry loses its effect. Harry stun the last Death Eater to leave the tower and sets down the stairs in persuasion of Snape who ran with Malfoy. While running down he enters a battle scene where a few Death Eaters, Order Members and Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Luna and Neville are also present. Though Harry has hardly time to help anyone and luckily Snape and Malfoy does not use the Vanishing Cabinet, but run out into the grounds, Harry hard upon their heels. Hagrid is fighting a few Death Eaters and the spells repel. Harry finally manages to catch up with them and Snape orders Malfoy to run. Harry tries to attack Snape, but in vain for Snape is a Legimens, after all. Harry is hit by the Cruciatus Cure and Snape yells again that they all should run and this time they heed his order. They are not to kill Harry for Voldemort himself wants to do that murder. When Harry tries the Prince's spells on Snape, Snape gets furious and tells Harry not to use his own spells on him. For Snape is the Half-Blood Prince. Then Harry tells Snape to kill him and calls him 'coward,' which infurates Snape who yells 'DON'T CALL ME COWARD' and slashes the air, but Buckbeak comes to Harry's rescue. Snape flees and disapperates.
Hagrid's house is burning and now Harry manages to perform the water spell. When the fire has been put out Hagrid and Harry goes to Dumbledore's broken body. Harry picks up the locket that's fallen out of Dumbledore's pocket. The locket is not engraved with any symbol of Slytherin's and inside there is a note signed R.A.B., which says that the real Horcrux has been stolen and replaced. Dumbledore weakened himself and died for nothing. |
