The second quidditch game of the year was this day. It was against Ravenclaw, Cho Chang glanced over towards Harry when the teams walked outside, hopefully trying to catch his glance.
Hermione and her trio were at least talking to her now, and the rest of the Gryffindors were on better terms no longer shooting angry glances towards her.
So Carrie was feeling much brighter this day, happier. Lighter even, her sense of humor was back and she could see the good in things. Well she could see the most good that a pessimist
could see. She was being slightly more social and not constantly lost in her own little world, her c.d. player was in her trunk and she only listened to it at night when she couldn't sleep. When she was afraid that nightmares and bad dreams would constantly torment her......
Not even the little flash of the nightmare she could remember could make her feel down.
As she walked out to the pitch the viewers in the stands started to roar. The loudest came from the Ravenclaws and Gryffindors cheering focused towards their players. Harry started giving out orders to the Gryffindor players, talking quickly. So quickly in fact, that Carrie couldn't understand a word of it.
'Potter, are you nervous?', she asked lazily pulling a strand of hair in front of her face and staring at it while she ran her fingers through it.' 'Cause I didn't get a word of that'
He replied quickly,'No!'
She dropped her piece of hair and muttered,'Then somebody had a little bit too much coffee didn't he?'
Ron walked over to harry and gave him a pat on the back,'It's alright mate.'
Carrie was probably more nervous than he, but was more adept at hiding it.
She felt a feeling of tingling run down her arms and to her fingertips. When it was time to mount their brooms she didn't think she could move from the spot she was standing, that she was rooted to the spot. She was almost relieved when she was able to swing her one leg over and kick off. Madam Hooch blew her whistle and released the Bludgers, snitch, and threw the Quaffle upwards.
Ginny caught it and threw it to the other chaser who became boxed in by two of the Ravenclaw chasers, and had to throw it to Carrie. Ginny leaned over the front of her broom and flew over to the hoops. Carrie was knocked into by the other chaser, she fell forward for a moment then regained her balance and flew foreward and threw the quaffle to Ginny who got it through the left hoop while the Ravenclaw keeper was drifting towards the right one.
The game went much better than the last one. Where Carrie ended up knocked out. This time Gryffindor won without any serious injuries. Not that there should be injuries.
The Gryffindor team saw with satisfactory that the Slytherins were not happy that they had won.
