Edie had almost fallen asleep under the heat of the late summer sun. She was brought back to full consciousness by a male voice. She opened her voice and looked up, seeing the figure of a fellow professor, who liked to be called Cole, but who she called by his first name. "Ah, Edward..." She said with a smile. She looked up at him, not bothering to stand up. Or even sit up. She just laid there. "I trust the summer treated you well?" She didn't wait for an answer. "Sometimes the things obstructing our paths prove the most beneficial to our journey," She said, closing her eyes again.
