Wei is an excentric character, rather down to earth in most things, dispite her oddities. She pays little attention to her appearance, but has been known on occasions to turn herself out elegantly. For the most part she seems oblivious to the state of her clothes.
She has great passion and faith, having many interests, persuing several with almost maniacal determination. When she gets wrapped up in observing, she is difficult to communicate with.
She has a pet Kestrel, Archie.
History:
The daughter of prosperous and well standing parents, she wanted for nothing appart from their attention. She was closest to her grandfather, an old man who lived in the house, and who used to regale her with fantasic stories, filled with adventure and danger. When he died, she was left to spend much of her time alone until she went to Hogwart's.
Sorted to Slytherin house, she was considered strange and given a wide berth by most of her housemates. The relative isolation however didn't bother her, and she soon developed a keen interest in Astronomy. She had a brief fling with Cole in her final year, but otherwise had a fairly uneventful time at school.
With special permission, she spent a brief time at a muggle institute, studying some aspects of Astronomy, before returning to the wizarding world to take a position in the ministry. After several years a position became available at Hogwart's teaching Astronomy, and she gladly accepted the post.
While there she became reaquainted with Cole, who was teaching Ancient Runes. They rekindled their previous fling, leading to their marriage a few years later. However as the years passed, they found that their schedules, and other work conflicts were driving them apart. They split six months ago.
Though she still harbours feelings for him, Wei is unsure of herself, having been rather shaken by the failure of their marriage. Part of her, her absolute faith in things, has been subverted, allowing her more cynical side to reach the fore.
Appearance:
5'8" tall, and slender, with slight, almost fragile seeming features. She has an elongeted oval face, and long black hair to her waist, usually worn in a tight plait. She has grey eyes, almost white, which take in colour from her surroundings,seem to sparkle if she is truely enraged. Her skin is perpetually pale, occasionally taking on a glow in moonlight, something she sees alot of.
She tends to wear long skirts which sweep the ground, and loose shirts or big floppy jumpers. When she does wear robes, they are usually creased or otherwise scattered looking.
She carries a silver pocketwatch, hanging in the folds of her skirt, which belonged to her grandfather, with inside clockwork which looks like planetary body motions. Also, she has a pouch, containing various powders she wants to keep on close hand.
Her only pieces of jewelery, are a simple silver pendant, with a dragon curled around an amber stone, and a serpentine ring with small emeralds encrusted in it. Secretly she also retains her engagement and wedding rings, a sentamentality she cannot seem to overcome.
Above the small of her back, running for about three inches, she has a tattoo along her spine of a curling bird, resembling some sort of eagle.
