Chapter 7

People at lunch were quite quiet around her. News traveled throughout the school pretty quickly. She glanced upwards at the ceiling the clouds moving and swirling like the outside. There was a loud roll of thunder and rain started to fall, pattering against the stone of the castle.
'Carrie!' Hermione ran up,'You know how Ron and Harry overheard?' without waiting for an answer she continued,'Well we were talking and Malfoy overheard- just like they did, I am soooo sorry.'
Carrie knew, It was obvious, but she still wanted to curse and shout and throw things. She surprised herself, by just laughing derisively,'So what? They are afraid of me. They think I am going to use Demonic powers to attack them all', Her voice was becoming louder so most of the students around could hear,'Well I'm not. Let them think whatever they want, but I know I am not. So I dont care.'
She picked up her c.d. player and walked swiftly off. She walked out the doors and onto the grounds, leaned against a tree, and thought for a moment. It was too hard to think though. With everything going on she just wanted to get lost. She picked up her c.d. case and flipped through it. In her mood she didnt want to listen to happy songs, or relatively soft music (most people woudn't). She felt irritable but didn't want to put the blame on Hermione, because it was, of course, all Malfoys fault anyway.
Finally she settled for 'Cute When You Scream'. She stuck the c.d. player under her sweatshirt, so it wouldnt get wet.
She kept listening, shutting her eyes and resting her head against the tree, letting the rain fall onto her face....

While she walked up to the castle, Malfoy and his 'clique' were standing there.
'So you're part demon?'
Carrie glared,'Thats right.' She didnt want to leave. She wasnt afraid of him, and she sure as **** didnt want to give him the satisfaction that he had something against her.'What does it matter?'
'Well I dont think that some of the younger students parents would enjoy having a part demon araound their children. Get my drift?'
Carrie laughed deceptively,'Oh, so you are trying to get me kicked out of Hogwarts?' she paused then continued haltingly,'See if I care.' She turned, ready to walk off.
'You know, I think it matters. No Hogwarts, no you becoming an auror.'
'I think you are forgetting something, your father? He's in Azkaban, he is a death eater.You dont have that much power. Not to mention I already pretty much screwed up my chances of that happening.'
'Exactly, you are brighter than I thought.'
'So you are threatening me to-......oh...' she laughed but when she continued her voice was very cold,'Like I'd be able to be an auror if I was a Death Eater, save your threats, I could learn other places besides Hogwarts. See ya', She smirked and flamed out, into her dorm.

She had a nightmare that night......
