Ah and here came the students!

"Potter." He greeted the first with an amicable smile. Yes, the man was in quite the good mood and was hoping that mood would remain throughout. Dancing was something he enjoyed on the odd occasion, mostly with his wife. They were both theatre nuts and enjoyed a good performance.

The man's gaze sunk to the First Year Gryffindor and her stiff curtsy. "Grantham." He replied carefully. Not much of a bounce in her step these days. He hadn't expected the suspension to make her happy--hardly, it was discipline and meant to be taken seriously--but he hoped she wouldn't let it become the defining characteristic in her entire school career. Hopefully her wand was back to working standard. He'd taken it, as promised, to get repaired for her mostly because a student with a faulty wand was a danger to everyone else but also because of that kicked cruppy look she'd given him that evening in the Inquisitorial Hall.

"Blaze. McCarthy." Rather than dwell on the sullen First Year, he focused on the pair to enter next--one seemingly always sullen but you got the idea.

"Ojeda. Kaiser." Yeeeaaahhh....he caught the tone the boy carried and returned it with an almost apologetic smile. His hands really were tied but this would be FUN. Weren't they excited??? No, so far none of them looked excited. Shame that.

The Headmaster nodded to first, De Nostredame then Schmoe when they made their appearances. Good, the cavalry had arrived. They'd be able to get this show on the road in short order. "Dakest, try not to look so flustered. We haven't even begun." Though there was some small comfort in knowing the boy probably ALWAYS looked this way and it wasn't just the sight of the man's lessons. It was the little things.

"Attention, attention." He clapped, calling everyone to order. "We're going to be starting in a bit. First, I'd like everyone to enter either set of changing rooms set up over there in either corner of the room." He paused to gesture to the curtains currently set up. Girls and Boys on either side. They'd dressed comfortably, but he needed them dressed for the ball. "Once you've found something you like, slip it on then come sign the register here with your name, year and house." Believe it or not, he'd been serious about attendance being a must here. Names would be checked before anyone was allowed into the ball. They should tell their friends. Should anyone be absent now, they still had a chance if they showed up to the other practices.

"Get that done, then we'll begin with a few light stretches."
