Catherine brushed off some of her hair off her face when Cecelia got up. Her gaze followed her best friend as she went to get more parchment, but she did catch Mackenzie's naughtiness from the corner of her eye.
The young brunette gave him a hard stare as her brother looked down at the nugget dipped in sauce that was now on the floor. Did he think that was funny? Did he think messing up her side of the bedroom was funny? Did he think Catherine and Cecelia would laugh at his silly antics? Did he think she was going to get up and clean up after him? Or did he think she was going to make him do it?
"Calen is not-" Her sentence was cut short by Cecelia's laughing. The girl shot her best friend a long look because she wasn't exactly helping the situation.
Yes, Catherine understood it. They were both making fun of her. Typical. She took a deep breath and pursed her lips ever so slightly, averting her gaze and staring down at her watercolour once again. Fine. They wanted to make a fool out of her, she understood it. "You can go find Noah now." She spat without looking up. Catherine wasn't going to join in on their game.
Taking a tentative calming breath, her frown softened considerably and she started working on her art again as if she couldn't hear or see either of them. |
