Archer was useless. Absolutely bloody useless. This entire ordeal had shaken him, and something in him, into a dumb shock. It was all he could do to keep standing with his hand on the rope. But when he saw Olly step away from the rope, after thinking they would all be fine - they just needed to retreat - they suddenly weren't.
People were calling out for Olly, trying to get her to shift her attention to them rather than whatever it was out there. He shuddered. The thing of nightmares, indeed, was what was out there. No, they weren't taking Olly.
The botanist already didn't have a great deal of defensive spells locked away in his mind, let alone when he was in a state such as now. So he merely had the quickest listen to his surroundings before pulling his wand out with slightly shaking hands and calling "Immobulus," to the... things, whatever they were. "Come on Olly," he said. They needed to fall back. Kat had Olly connected by a rope, and perhaps they would all be able to use their strength to pull her back with them.
