Catherine looked intently at Cecelia when her friend explained the reason behind her outfit. It did make sense. Catherine didn't know that was a thing and her gaze drifted towards the glass of juice she was holding as she double checked the colours of her own clothes with her peripheral vision. Catherine didn't really need to remind herself of what her clothes looked like - she remembered -, but it was almost automatic. Much darker tones than her best friend's. She hadn't been truthfully aware of the fact outfits reflected the inner mood, but it seems like she had been doing it intuitively. That, and the fact she'd never wear things that made her eyes hurt. Noted. "I suppose." She finally remarked, looking back up at her friend and blinking at the amount of bright colours in front of her.
The young brunette had been hoping Cecelia wouldn't ask questions and just go with it. Lots of the kids at her school seemed happy enough to do it, but Catherine's own people were never too interested in it, unfortunately. That was why she had given up on telling Noah and Scarlett what to do. Mackenzie was her last hope or not.
"No." They weren't in a fight. Not officially, at least. He was always annoying her, so she could argue he was always starting a fight, even if unintentionally - though she knew it was always intentional. "But he doesn't have to be with me-- with us all the time." Catherine told Cecelia, shifting her glass of juice from one hand to the other, closely watching the liquid stir a little by the movement. "He can have his own friends." Implying Cecelia was her best friend. Hers, not Noah's. |
