Sebastian had been here the whole time…he was just a little distracted and hadn’t really been paying attention until Professor Noble mentioned their first activity. Wearing vision impairing goggles whilst trying to measure out different potion ingredients sounded like a really good time, and Sebastian was excited to see which goggles he got.
The Hufflepuff went up to the tray with the different goggles and grabbed a pair before walking back to his station. He grinned, holding back a chuckle, watching Kam try to scoop ingredients with her goggles on. It was actually really funny to see. But in all seriousness, he knew it was no laughing matter, especially for those that were blind.
Placing the goggles over his eyes, he quickly had to adjust to get used to the complete blurriness. It was really…frustrating. It only seemed to be blurry when he looked out at far distances, close up was easier. “Well, this will be interesting,” he said to himself. He quickly bent over his station and looked for his mortar and pestle. Finding it rather easily, he searched for the teaspoon. That took a little longer but eventually, by feeling around his station, he found the measuring spoons and holding them up very close to his face searched for the teaspoon size.
Soon he was searching for his container of beetle eyes, accidentally knocking over his mortar and making a very loud racket. “Sorry,” he said sheepishly as he picked it up and placed it back where he had it. He finally found the container of beetle eyes and scooped and dumped three tablespoons into the mortar.
Now to find the Valerian Sprigs! He moved his head as close to the table as he possibly could and looked for them. Through the blurred vision, he found them, doling out the required amount. Again, he moved his head over the surface of the table as close as he possibly could to find the Lethe River water. Once he found it he squeezed out 4 drops of the water into the mortar.
How he did it, he wasn’t sure, but he managed better than he thought he would! Sebastian sat and waited for further instructions. At least with these goggles on he wasn’t distracted by all the pretty girls and cute guys in the room. It really was becoming a problem.
