Nearly 18 years ago, Brynja Siri Dalgaard had the world almost shattered, when she discovered she was pregnant months before her graduation from Durmstrang. Compounding the disaster, her boyfriend at the time (and her baby’s father) decided he wasn’t ready to be a dad and he abandoned her to handle things on her own. Eighteen and thrust into a world she wasn’t prepared for at all. So she went home to Iceland, letting her family help her through it all and subsequently finding herself recruited to play for a professional Gobstones team. Her world, including her child, became larger than Iceland as she moved her tiny family to Tinworth. Near the home of the team owner and establishing relationships once again that helped her raise her young daughter.

From feeling alone, she found that her family had grown to include all her new friends. Relationships had taken the backseat, but she kept herself busy enough that it didn’t matter to her.

Ironically enough, her daughter’s father reappeared in their lives nearly eight years later and in her innocence, she fell back into what was familiar after beginning with just letting him be part of his daughter’s life. Until things once again proved to be, well, habit, and he left again after she found herself pregnant with their second child. Her cultivated family remained, including her children’s aunt and other family to an extent. Most of all, she had her siblings there for her. Her true family. Those who had been with her from the beginning.

What she hadn’t expected, however, was her own daughter taking things into her own hands and vowing not to let her mama be alone. Ultimately, she found herself in yet another new situation, finding herself falling for someone who wasn’t Vladimir. New situations, but family is forever…
