Maxie had grown a lot over the summer. Not emotionally, but physically. He was now - roughly - 5'10 and as gangly as they came. He felt like a goose, obnoxious and obvious no matter how much he hunched his shoulders and kept his eyes to the ground. It didn't help matter that that despite being officially 13 (Happy Birthday, Maxie!), he was very much a second year and the majority of his year were still quite small indeed.

Hunger had driven him out of his compartment (he had forgotten the lunch Damien had brought him), but he was beginning to think food wouldn't be worth it. There was a line, a proper one with many kids he recognized (... like the very curly-haired girl from the world cup) and knew to be the talking types.

Maxie hunched in behind an older Ravenclaw boy - slinkhard, trying to appear as inconspicuous as possible. was it working? not at all.
