Kalen was leaning against the wall opposite of the office as the headmaster slammed the door and locked it!
His mind was racing a mile a minute, and his green eyes were staring sightlessly at the door as he attempted to figure out what in Merlin’s name had just happened. This was bringing back flashbacks of the Inferi and the curse that had been cast on him the year before that. He could actually feel his throat trying to close up as he took a few deep breaths and tugged on the collar of his shirt.
He was getting to old for all of this, he was very ready for a desk job somewhere that didn’t put him in danger every year.
He felt an urge to run and go check on each and every one of his Slytherins to make sure they were okay and didn’t have any of those.. things around. And then.. his mind drifted away for another moment making a mental list about who else he needed to check on, before the Headmaster spoke and Kalen’s eyes focused slightly as he tried to follow what the man said.
“Yes, meeting.. right. ” The man said as he tried to shake his head and clear his thoughts. Was he in shock? He wasn’t sure.. but nothing seemed to be working at the moment.
“Can I check on my Slytherins first headmaster? And then head to the meeting?” He asked his voice kinda rough and shaking.
Now if only he could make his legs move. |
