Cup of coffee already in hand and sheets of parchment tucked under his arm, Jake entered the conference room in what seemed to be an inordinately good mood, given the context of the situation. Morning meetings (or really meetings in general) (or mornings in general, for that matter) and good moods didn't really go together, but Jake was feeling particularly buoyant all the same. Today would be a productive day; he could feel it. Even the ever-present piles of paperwork on his desk had not yet managed to sour his optimism for the day ahead, though he supposed there was still time for all that.
"Morning all," Uhh... all three of them. Jake smiled as he took his seat, then nodded across to Alexa. He had been thrilled for her ever since he'd found out about her Department-Headship, and was eager to see what kind of job she would do, and he didn't doubt the department would flourish behind her leadership. After taking a sip of coffee, Jake set his cup down, then placed the parchment on the table in front of him in a neat pile. Reports, updates, blank sheafs for potential note-taking, he was plenty organised today.
