It was really, really difficult to try and guess the steps of this ???potion??? just by watching those around him. And Abra knew, he kneeeewwwww he should just ASK Professor Wishart for the next set of steps, but he was by now so anxious about calling attention to himself and how far behind he was and the fact that he'd not managed to write all the steps down, that it just seemed like a much better idea to stay quiet. Anyway, the rest of the class was moving on, and now Abra was really behind, and did not want to draw attention to that.

As far as he could tell, he was supposed to add the other ingredient to the mixture now, the blended dittany extract. Exactly how much, Abra didn't know, and he didn't want to waste even more time by measuring, so he just added a bunch and set the rest aside. As for stirring, Abra knew enough about potions after six and a bit years of lessons to know that the direction and number of stirs was important. He'd watched his neighbour earlier, and knew seven anti-clockwise stirs was the way to go, which did also ring a bell in his head regarding what Wishart had told them to do.

He did this, but had completely forgotten what colour it was supposed to go - and this was the hardest part of potions for him at the best of times, seeing colours as differently as he did - though he was pretty sure 'muddy yellow' had not been mentioned. Not wanting to add any more stirs in case something went boom, Abra decided to call it done and waved his wand over the top, wincing slightly as though bracing for something to go wrong.

Nothing went wrong. It was all good. Well, except the thick, muddy yellow sludge now in a vial in front of him. But it wasn't like he was going to administer it to a real person, so... it would be okay if it went wrong, right? ... Right???

Wiping the sweat from his brow, Abra took his vial up to the dummies, and found himself a free one to get working on. Finding one of those shallow wounds that Wishart had mentioned, Abra attempted to add a few drops of his dittany extract to it... but it was too thick to drop. So he just sort of... smeared it on the wound with his own finger, and hoped nobody was paying too much attention to him. Look away, people. Nothing to see here.
