No.

Zoryn wasn't going to let him do this. She had shut her emotions off, remember? She wasn't falling for this. He wasn't going to get to her. He didn't exist anymore. This friendship didn't exist anymore.

The Gryffindor physically turned herself away from him once more, thinking that blocking him off physically would help keep that mental and emotional block in place. Here's the thing, she knew this was her fault. She wasn't exactly aware of the moral implications behind the potions at the time. And she could still justify why they were 'just a bit of fun' and 'nothing more'. BUT she also knew the Headmaster was being reasonable. She knew it was Derf's job to report it. And she knew how he felt about polyjuice.

But here's another thing. Derf was good. He was one of the best people she knew. And he knew her, almost too well. It's not like this friendship would last very long. Derfael was innately good. Zoryn was innately bad. It's who they were. It's how the world worked. Good people don't like the bad people. She didn't have to be an Arithmancy brainiac to add those two things together.

So if it was all bound to sink, she'd do it on her own terms. No one could leave her behind. Because she left them. She had canceled him. Not the other way around. Its the same thing she pulled on Christopher, Sylvie, and now Théo. Only, the others made it much easier.

They all gave up.

It was almost like a test, wasn't it? And everyone failed, eventually. She was sure Derf would too.

Only at the moment, he was being absolutely infuriating.

Zoryn had put up the barricade and he KEPT AT IT. Every single attempt only broke down another piece of her barrier. The emotions she had been blocking out were slowly being reintroduced. And it was sending her into an ultimate panic. Thank Merlin she wasn't facing him because she was freaking out. Visibly.

"Stop," she didn't want to hear it. SHUT UP, SHUT UP, SHUT UP!!!

He didn't mean any of that. He was just saying things. Of course he didn't care. Why would anyone care? She was a screw up, okay? "STOP!"
