And she liked to work with Derf in these classes. But that... that was over now.

After coming to that realization, Natalie sniffed, rubbed her nose and tried to shove her emotions into a dark corner of her brain where she couldn't find them while she tucked her gloves into her coat pockets. She would be okay. Right?
"Hello, Natalie. I hope your doing well today." Tristan said with a grin, though quickly noting her sudden change in mood. He wondered what was going on with her. Hopefully it wasn't something that couldn't be worked out.

He rubbed his shoulder subconsciously as he sat down on one of the hay bales waiting for class. "Hi Professor Wayland."
"Hi, Patrick." Tristan said with a nod and a smile. The Slytherin Quidditch Captain seemed to be a little distracted today. Hopefully that wouldn't affect his learning. Today's lesson was extraordinary to say the least.

Tristan looked over as he heard someone jogging up, worried something was wrong, he was relieved to see it was just Gunnar. He must have been trying to stay warm. "Hello, Gunnar. Hope you're well." He said with a grin.

And that a certain charms professor wasn’t in charge of them.

“Hello Professor,” he greeted the man once he hit the familiar circle of hay bales, the professor in question visible on his throne. He moved to take a seat on of the bales, taking out some parchment and a quill to be ready to begin. Then his eyes were flitting around the area as he tried to find some clue as to what they might be learning about this time around.
"Hello, Septimus. You look warm. You'll probably want to take of your scarf and cloak before we get started. Don't want you to get overheated." He said with a knowing smile. Their activity today was going to be quite the workout.

And took a seat on one of the hay bales, smiling at the classmates he made eye contact with.
"Hello, Jackson. Good to see you." Tristan said with a nod and a smile. The Prefect seemed to be in a very good mood today.

He really, really hoped that there would be some more warming charms down at the actual lesson.

Abra was in luck. The second he stepped over the boundary of the lesson area, he felt himself warm up significantly, and the relief on his face was clear.

"Hello, Professor Wayland," Abra greeted his head of house as he went and found a hay bale to sit on, loosening his scarf now that he didn't really need to be quite so wrapped up.
"Hello, Abra. Hope it's warm enough for you." Tristan said with a grin as his prefect started loosening his scarf a bit. Outside of this area it was bloody cold. That was one of the downsides of CoMC lessons...they were outside in all weather. But for anyone that wanted to be a Magizoologist one day...they would have to learn to deal with all sorts of weather.

Now where to sit, that was her next goal, to sit by someone different. She wanted to meet new people and be friends with more, so she looked the seats over and grinned walking over towards the Slytherin captain, "Mind if I sit here near you?"
"Hi, Chloe! I am doing very well, thank you for asking! How are you today?" She seemed to be in a very chipper mood today, and it immediately brought a smile to Tristan's face. He loved it when his students were happy and worried when they were down.

Maybe this wouldn't be too bad.
"Hello, Lucas!" Tristan called back with a smile. Another happy student! He was sure this lesson would perk up anyone that wasn't happy. Hopefully it wouldn't freak anyone out....

Indigo wasn't particularly drawn to any of the people currently present so he took a seat on the edge of the semi circle of hay bales and waited for the lesson to start.
"Hello, Indigo." Tristan said with a nod and a grin. He could tell the Ravenclaw was trying to figure out what creature they would be working with today, with the glances around the area. He never gave any hints as to what they would be doing...well he usually didn't.

She sighed again as she watched a few more people arrive. Wonder what they'd be learning about today?
"Hello, Torii." Tristan said with a smile. He was going to have to get that girl some friends. Hopefully someone would sit next to her and talk to her soon.

...and he didn't even think about ANYTHING as he made his way right on over to Natalie. It had been this way since first year and his instincts, being quite the creature of habit, saw no reason to change that. A lot of other things were changing. Could he keep this the same, please?

"Hey," he greeted as he plopped down and itched the back of his right hand, AGAIN not thinking any of this through or what awkwardness would soon follow. He was in his zone. His safe space. Everything was fiiiiiiiiiine here.
Then came Derfael. He sighed a little as the Head Boy made his way into the class area, but gave the young man a small smile as he gave his greeting. "Hello, Derfael." Things were still a little tense, but they would work out eventually. Sitting next to Natalie as he always did, Tristan noticed there might be some slight tension there. Or was he just seeing things?

Her tone was somber as she gave the professor a nod. "Good day to you, sir. I hope we're in for a good one today." She scratched at her arm through her sleeve and opted not take a seat on a hay bale. Must be developing some sort of allergy to the stuff, but it was annoying.
"Good day, Head Girl. I assure you, we are in for a great one." Tristan said with a wink and a grin hoping to get that sadness out of her voice. He was very concerned, but hid it well so that she wouldn't notice. He would have to talk to her after the lesson...

"Hello, Stasya! Ash is doing good. Even on his bad days...he is still good." Tristan said with a wink to his prefect. As a matter of fact, the bird was holed up in his hut right now hanging out by the fireplace napping. Just the thought of the beautiful creature made him grin.

Usually, she enjoyed learning about and working with the animals, but Cordelia wasn’t really feeling it today. Right now she was feeling more tired and cranky than excited. Thirsty too, so thirsty. She took some consolation in the fact that it was warmer once she reached the area outside the barn where the lesson was to be held. ”Professor,” she curtly greeted the man as she arrived. Taking a seat on a hay bale, Cordelia pulled out her water bottle from her bag. She twisted the cap off and raised the bottle to her lips. Tipping her head back, she could feel the cold liquid trickling down her throat in her quest to quench her insatiable thirst. Screwing the cap back on, Cordelia put the water bottle down so she could take off her coat. She pulled out her blood sugar testing kit, stuck a clean strip in her meter, pricked her finger, squeezed a drop of blood onto the strip, waited a few seconds to see the number, and shoved the whole kit back into her bag. Licking the remaining blood off her finger with no shame, Cordelia pulled her insulin pump out of her pocket and made some adjustments for it to deliver more insulin. When she was done, she returned it to her pocket. Now, whatever Professor Wayland had for them today had better be something cute and fuzzy. Or a unicorn. Cordelia still hadn’t seen a unicorn yet. She really needed to ask Professor Wayland sometime if there was any chance of her ever being able to see a real unicorn. Unicorns were her favorite. Things that liked cuddles would also be accepted.
"Hello, Cordelia." Tristan said with a concerned smile, and watched as she tested her blood sugar. He hoped she was doing okay today and that she had enough insulin in her pump. If not he may need to send for Amelia. He would have to keep a close eye on the young Gryffindor today.

She was so proud of her hair, she had forgone any head covering, just so she could show it off. Vain? Possibly, but damn Gina!

"Hey, professor!" she greeted, before plopping down on a hay bale. Please, everyone, pay attention to her awesomely epic hair and not the itching of her arm.
"Hello, Archer." Tristan said with a smile, slightly distracted by the interaction between Natalie and Derf. Needless to say...he wanted the tea but wasn't figuring it out yet. Sorry Archer...drama is more interesting than epic hair.

She placed her scarves on her lap as she continued unbundling herself. Then scratched at her nose. Then proceeded to get excited because it was Care of Magical Creatures!
"Hello, Harri. You look nice and toasty there." Tristan said with an amused grin. She must not be able to handle the cold very well. He wasn't surprised seeing as how little she was. Was it just him or were there a lot of students scratching themselves today?

Her emotions were still running sky high and as of lately nothing had been able to get this ginger haired girl down and it showed.
"Hello. Rylee!" Tristan called back to the young excited Gryffindor. He was happy to see that some of his students were happy to be here. He knew last term was hard on all of them. Heck it was hard on him to be away from them knowing who his replacement was. Hopefully they would learn to trust again.

As soon as she entered the area where the lesson was being held, she was pleased to see she had been right. She took her hat off and looked around for a spot to sit.

She decided to plop down next to that girl she'd almost killed with her books at Flourish and Blotts over the summer. She'd never even properly got a chance to apologize for that before she'd been whisked away by the sudden appearance of Royland, panicking over something again. She smiled at her. "Hey! Remember me? I dropped a bunch of books on you over the summer," she said with a chuckle.

She paused for a second and looked around, spotting Natalie and Derf sitting nearby looking SUPER awkward. What was going on there? Hmm.
Tristan watched as Nettie walked into the area. He was so happy that she sat next to Torii that he hadn't noticed she hadn't greeted him. He didn't care. He was just happy that Torii was getting some attention. Hopefully the would become friends, Merlin know's Torii needed one!

Could I help? Sam had asked her in her head. By now, she had gotten used to hearing him in her head. Skyler shook her head in real life.
No, I'm fine
She sighed and gave the professor a respectful nod, a slight glare in her eyes. Did he catch it? She hoped he did.
"Hello Professor Wayland, how are you doing?" she asked.
Something was off about Skyler this term and he really couldn't figure out what it was. She was being slightly hostile and passive aggressive. He may need to either have her come and talk to him or speak to her head of house. He smiled as the young Slytherin greeted him. "Hello, Skyler. I'm doing very well, thank you. I hope you are too." He wasn't going to out right ask in front of everyone. It would be inappropriate.

Smiling, she joined the others. She couldn't wait to find out what they would be learning about today. "Hello, Professor Wayland." This should be fun.
"Hello, Maddie!" Tristan said with a grin. He quickly checked his watch. It was about time to start.

Tristan quickly drank the rest of his tea and with a flick of his wand the cup disappeared. With another flick, his hay bale throne dismantled and made it's way back to the pile of hay bales just outside of the barn. As he turned away from the deconstructing throne, he gave the class a very excited smile. "Hello everyone! Welcome to Care of Magical Creatures...and have I got an exciting lesson for you all today!" He was so excited he was bouncing on the balls of his feet.

The man paced a little in front of the class, knowing he had to tell them what it was. The creature could be deemed...potentially dangerous. But the specific one that they would be working with today was around humans all the time. That being said...“Because the creature we are working with today is potentially dangerous, I will be telling you what it is before I bring it out for you.” He paused to clear his throat, his nerves of having this creature around his students was getting the better of him, but they needed to learn about these creatures too. “Today we will be working with the Zouwu. But before we do I have some questions for you.” His excitement and nervousness was starting to be visible and he knew he needed to calm down.

As he took a breath, he stopped in the middle of the semi-circle and looked around at all of his students. Tristan took a deep breath, and asked, "Other than the Zouwu, what other cat-like magical creatures are there? That can include big cats and small cats and from anywhere in the world, not just here in the United Kingdom." He said with a grin, and waited patiently for hands to shoot up into the air.

OOC: Alright lovlies! You have 24 hours to answer the question! Make it interesting! Make mistakes! Please, limit it to one creature so everyone has a chance! And just have fun!
