She could hardly believe her ears when she heard the compliment. She, as usual, didn't think of anything she did as being more than mediocre. "Um, thank you. I'd be happy to cook with you next time. It would be fun making something together." Recipes and a menu quickly popped in her head and she wished she had a sheet of parchment to jot down the ideas.
"Oh, yes. I bet there are some things that need to be done. I'm sorry to be taking up all of your time." Emmalyn shook her head at the suggestion that Kay do the dishes, but she didn't have a chance to voice her disapproval before Kay insisted. It put her in a rather uncomfortable position. She wanted to be the one to take care of the tasks, like dishes, to help out, but she also wanted to do as Kay wished. "I'll play with Marshmallow, under protest." She flashed a smile at Kay then winked at the little crup. "Next meal, I've got the dishes." Emmalyn quickly added before bolting out the door "Let's go, Marshmallow!"
