Family Background:
Caolan’s father’s side of the family are mainly pureblooded witches and wizards from Northern Ireland who can be traced back to the 18th century. His mother’s side of the family are muggles from the South West of Britain namely Devon and Cornwall. Anna moved to Northern Ireland to follow a move of the headquarters of the company that she worked for. There she met her future husband at the local community centre where they both volunteered. Romance soon blossomed and they married within a year of starting their relationship. Quinn studied and later pursued a career as a Herbologist. They had their first child Caolan three years into their marriage.

Prologue
Caolan was born at his parents farm in a hamlet on the outskirts of Newry in Northern Ireland where he has remained for the entirety of his childhood. His mother was formerly an accountant but who now works on the family arable farm and smallholding after the birth of Caolan’s two younger sisters. His father was a Herbologist who sadly lost his life in a freak accident when Caolan was only 8 years old and his mother was still pregnant with his youngest sister Ava. His mother was concerned about sending Caolan off to magical school when he turned eleven years old and so instead he remained at home to help with the farm and his sisters and attended a local Muggle secondary school until he turned fifteen. His grandparents on his father’s side although supported his mother’s decision due to her grief finally helped persuade Anna that he should be allowed to make the decision to go to Hogwarts. They were responsible for helping him to catch up on his studies being very skilled wizards.
At his secondary school Caolan pretty much knew everyone and was comfortable both academically and socially. He strangely enjoyed education and was fairly academic although he didn’t exceed in all his classes as he didn’t always put the effort in where he didn’t feel it necessary.
The Wilson family are not very well off and only make enough money to survive on the basics especially after his father’s passing. Much of what Caolan has taken to school with him are hand-me-down’s from his father.
