 Ending Station 4. Moving on to Station 5. Then the Snitch Hunt. Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
The Quaffle came back his way once more. It seemed like this part of the obstacle course had gotten pretty crowded and quickly as Mark was nearing the end of this part of the station. When he caught eye of a quaffle getting tossed his way. He raised up one arm and snagged it one handed then just a quickly released it back out "Quaffle coming back!" Mark shouted out toward the direction the quaffle came from. Maybe the Captain threw that one toward him?
Mark then stopped in front of the final station. The Keeper Dummy here was much bigger than he was so hopefully, Juniper doesn't pick it over him, or anyone else for that matter? Would she be allowed to do that in certain situations? Like what if there wasn't any Keepers left if they all got hurt, him included? Was she now just a Keeper short for a match or could she play with the Dummy? Questions for later, Mark.
With a Quaffle in Hand Mark looked toward the dummy and flew around the rings trying to find an opening on the Keeper. It should be easy. As a Keeper himself he would be able to pinpoint his own weaknesses and find holes on where he would need to improve. Maybe this Keeper had all the same fault.
Mark quickly reversed on his broom and tossed the Quaffle threw the Hoop! SCORE! HA HA! The Keeper didn't read that he would reverse and Mark scored on it easily. Next shot and he would be onto the Snitch Search with everyone else.
Mark repeated the same moves. Circling the Rings and then reversing his broom. He toss the Quaffle again but this time the Keeper saw it coming and blocked his shot. Dangit!! Not this time. New strategy. Mark picked up the quaffle that was blocked and zoomed back a bit. Then despite his Broom not being so quick he went at full speed toward the keeper. This had been done on him a few times in matches. Chasers playing chicken with him. Who would move first, or would they just collide? If he moved they would score on him. But he was frail so it definitely worked against him a few times.
Just before he reached the Keeper Mark pulled his broom to a skidding stop and lobbed the quaffle over the keepers head toward the left goal post and scored on him. Heheh YEAH!
With that Mark zoomed off and joined the rest of his teammates now searching for the Snitch.
This part Mark wasn't so good at. He kept still in his spot searching and watching for the small golden ball with wings. He noticed Nettie catching hers and while he knew it was cheap he followed the snitch that was released from her hands and zoomed after it. Still though, his broom it was not meant for speed and could not keep up with the zipping and zigzagging little thing. He would not stop though.
He lost sight of it and pulled his broom to a stop once more. Surely he could find it again? |
