Or rather a VERY busy season as summer always was. Gideon had survived his first summer the previous year so he had some clue as to what he had to contend with but that didn’t mean the young shopkeeper could let his guard down. There was still all the hustle and bustle of students and families as they prepared for another upcoming school term. At least his last batch of potions had been finished before the morning rush. It was hard to keep track of brewing when the tinkling of the bell on the door always caught his attention and pulled him away to assist who he needed to.

Wiping the counter between customers, he watched as a young girl approach. Gideon was about to ask if she needed help since there was nothing in her grasp to purchase when she spoke up herself. “Of course…” he said with a polite nod as he moved behind to the counter to where he had stocked some of the standard school supplies within easy reach so he didn’t have to wander away when he had a full long line of customers to contend with.

“Will that be all?” Gideon asked as he set down the vials and scale on the wooden surface between them.

Over the eleven-year-old’s head, there was the sight of an older man that looked vaguely familiar to Gideon from the angle they both were in. And a boy seemed to be with him. Was that…? And was that a house elf? The potioner made a note to maybe go and see who it was when the girl was done with her purchases. But for now, he was returning his attention to the girl since she was important and right in front of him. Well most of it anyway.
Mary took her equipment and pushed the galleons toward the man. She didn't speak anything more add she took the vials and scales. She walked out of the store staring down at her feet and almost running into another customer.

As she exited into Diagon, she found relief from the confined space, fragile items, and of smells. It was better for her anti-social personality.
