Leading up to Friday's release of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, the cast participated in many, many - MANY - junket interviews in London and Los Angeles the past few weeks, talking about their characters' development, the sequel as a whole, tips from J.K. Rowling, and much more.

While a couple of the interviews do have minor spoilers (they are noted), most of the segments are just of the cast chatting away about the rise of Grindelwald and what fans can expect.


Starting off with Dan Fogler and Alison chatted with from last week's press tour at Universal Studios Hollywood, where the Queenie Goldstein actress discussed in detail about working with Johnny Depp, whom she said was a great and funny support during some upsetting scenes (the pair are dear friends now). The two admit that they will return for Fantastic Beasts 3 next summer.



Here, Jude Law confirmed he already knows the title of Fantastic Beasts 3, which he also told Eddie Redmayne. The two play coy while Katherine Waterston eggs them for information.



The cast chatted about the movie, and also mulled over which Hogwarts House they would be in (or house hybrid).





Katherine and Eddie discussed working with the puppet team who brought the magical creatures to life, the creatures they most resemble, and some fun and swear-filled outtakes that even J.K. Rowling enjoyed on set.



Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, and Jude Law chatted with Extra at Universal earlier this month about the secrets they know about their Fantastic Beasts characters, and what they can and can't (mostly everything) they can tell the public.



The cast chatted about their boggarts and characters at Universal, and the climactic scene with Grindelwald (Zoe Kravitz and Callum Turner went into specific details about that final scene, including that it took two weeks to shoot, and that Johnny Depp was on set at all times, at various angles in the amphitheatre).



Law was a guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last week to promote the feature, where he chatted about playing 'young' Dumbledore and the allure that has brought on.



Kravitz, Turner, Fogler, Ezra Miller, and Claudia Kim played a game of 'would you ever', but a Wizarding world version (if they would be a boggart, part of the Circus Arcanus, etc).



The cast chatted about their wands, whether they got to choose them, wand cores, and Jude Law's paint-like wand strokes.







Eddie and Katherine discussed their characters' relationship follies (major spoilers in this interview).



The cast chat about the new magical creatures and what's happening in the Wizarding world beyond the U.K. and U.S. in Paris (spoilers in this one).



The cast have jumped over to London to begin promotion there, starting with Eddie and Katherine on BBC's The One Show, where they went through the sequel, their characters, the beasts, and what's to come.

At the end of the first film, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne). But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings.

In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.

The film features an ensemble cast led by Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Zoë Kravitz, Callum Turner, Claudia Kim, William Nadylam, Kevin Guthrie, Carmen Ejogo, Poppy Corby-Tuech, with Jude Law and Johnny Depp.

“Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” is directed by David Yates, from a screenplay by J.K. Rowling. The film is produced by David Heyman, J.K. Rowling, Steve Kloves and Lionel Wigram. Tim Lewis, Neil Blair, Rick Senat and Danny Cohen serve as executive producers.

The film reunites the behind-the-scenes creative team from the first “Fantastic Beasts” film, including Oscar-winning director of photography Philippe Rousselot (“A River Runs Through It”), three-time Oscar-winning production designer Stuart Craig (“The English Patient,” “Dangerous Liaisons,” “Gandhi,” the “Harry Potter” films), four-time Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood (“Chicago,” “Memoirs of a Geisha,” “Alice in Wonderland,” “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”), and Yates’ longtime editor Mark Day (the last four “Harry Potter” films). The music is by eight-time Oscar nominee James Newton Howard (“Defiance,” “Michael Clayton,” “The Hunger Games” films).

Slated for release on November 16, 2018, the film will be distributed worldwide in 2D and 3D in select theatres and IMAX by Warner Bros. Pictures.

This film is rated PG-13 for some sequences of fantasy action.
