And on and on and on he goes,
dancing in mansions made of twigs
and castles made of sand.
He says his head is filled with
cartoons and fairy tales
and he's trapped inside a dungeon of dolls
with smiles on their faces.
He's built a pretty cage.

“Sand castles, Uncle Lucas!’’

“Want to build one? It would go perfectly with your crown.’’

Brody bobbed his head. He was an eager five year old at the beach, clutching a small bucket and spade. His plastic crown was perched crookedly on his dark hair. He scooped sand into the bucket while Lucas upturned it so that the sand came out in its shape.

“There’s one tower for you, King Brody.’’

“King Brody wants more!’’

Lucas chuckled. “Coming right up!’’

The Uncle- nephew pair continued working.

“Enough towers!’’
