Post 'Fantastic Beasts' new SDCC trailer reveals many new magical creatures & characters

The latest Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them trailer, debuting at this weekend's San Diego Comic-Con, revealed some vary familiar magical creatures for those who read the original schoolbook from J.K. Rowling, as well as new characters to the film.

A screencaps breakdown, below, takes note of some of those creatures (including one representing Rowling's own Ilvermorny house), and a first look at two characters announced quite a while back. The trailer itself ends with an ominous showdown between Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) and the NYPD circa 1926.

Quote:
We start off with Colin Farrell's character, Auror Percival Graves, walking toward a demolished building (looks to be what was a brownstone in Manhattan), and those nearby noting that something that looked like 'a ghost' with 'shining white eyes' was spotted causing the mess.

Quote:
The creature then breaks through a cobbled street and creates a break in the middle of the road, all the while Graves watches.

Quote:
The next scene shows Tina Goldstein (Katherine Waterston) running covertly through the MACUSA headquarters, with Newt's briefcase in hand. Waterston admitted at Comic-Con that she worked as an Auror under Graves (he was her direct boss) and that she lost her position for currently unknown reasons.

Quote:
A house-elf is spotted, and it looks like it's been given the job of polishing wands. Well, that's something.

Quote:
MACUSA President Seraphina Picquery resides over what looks like a court while her right-hand man Graves watches on.

Quote:
It looks like Tina's knocking on some enchanted door to get into what could be a speakeasy in New York City, as shown by the second photo of a wizard playing a magical deck of cards.

Quote:
We're back to seeing Jacob (Dan Fogler) opening Newt's enchanted briefcase. Or rather, it just sort of opened itself and a magical creature jumped out at him.

Quote:
Tina brings the boys home, and here they meet her sister Queenie (Alison Sudol) for the first time. Queenie even has a sweet nickname for her big sister, 'Teeny'.

Quote:
Looks like Jacob might be a bit smitten with Queenie.

Quote:
Some kids are skating around on a park rink, all the while something luminous is swimming underneath them...

Quote:
Tina and a group of passersby spot a magical Billywig flying above their head.

Quote:
And here slithers the frightful Occamy... another one of Newt's fun creatures to have sprung out from his suitcase to cause mayhem.

Quote:
Here's the very first look at Oscar-winner Jon Voight as Henry Shaw. Sr., father of Senator Henry Shaw. Jr, standing before a crowd.

Quote:
Here's another speakeasy, this time with goblins running afoot. It looks like we've finally got our first glimpse of actor Ron Perlman, who confirmed a while back he was playing a goblin who runs a speakeasy. You can even spot Tina and Newt sitting behind him.

Quote:
Looks like we're back to that big dinner for Shaw Jr. that runs amok, but this time from the point of view of a shocked and frightened Shaw Sr.

Quote:
Some very ominous words from President Picquery, who states that if No-Majs are attacked, war will ensue with wizarding kind.

Quote:
Newt, in true tactless fashion, tells Jacob to wear a helmet owing to his injury-susceptible head as they search (or hunt?) for magical creatures in the park.

Quote:
A Thunderbird (yes, just like the Ilvermonry house it's named after) is spotted flying around a crowd in Manhattan.

Quote:
Newt summons the Swooping Evil back into his palm, while holding onto Tina tight. Yes, those are fallen bodies surrounding them (dead? just injured?).

Quote:
This might be the fight between Tina and Graves that Katherine Waterston accidentally revealed during the SDCC chat, where former boss and employee are going head-to-head on the streets of New York City.

Quote:
Say hello to the thieving demiguise, with Queenie watching on behind it.

Quote:
Graves watches on as Times Square in 1926 is under attack.

Quote:
While trying to attack Newt in another scene (or maybe it's the same scene as before?).

Quote:
We come to a major showdown between Newt and New York City's finest, who have him surrounded. Little do they know there's something bigger and far deadlier about to attack them all.

Quote:
And the trailer finishes off with this adorable scene between Newt and Jacob, the latter proclaiming how much he'd love to be a wizard!
