Serenity opened her eyes and found herself in yet another hotel room. Luckily, her mother assured her that once she reached Hogwarts, she would have a permanent bed again. She was very much looking forward to it, even if she was rather nervous about starting at a new school so late and after having taken a year off. She ate very little at breakfast and was ready far too early for catching the train. Her mother took her out the back to Diagon Alley to pick up some last minute supplies before finally stepping back out on the muggle side of London to catch a cab to King's Cross station.
It was very crowded but, her mother steered her through and they both made their way through the barrier between platforms nin and ten, just like they had discussed. Serenity's eyes met with the beautiful scarlet train and just knew that wherever that train was taking her was bound to be safe. She felt a gentle push from behind her and laughed as she saw the expression on her mother's face.
Memories flooded back to her as she stood on the platform. And then, she spotted Wyn. Giving Serenity a push in the right direction, Day half dragged her daughter over to the Winstons. "Wyn!" she shouted over the noise as she approached. |
