It seemed that most people seemed to be coming along--and he didn’t notice any GLARING mistakes, so Paul was back in the front, behind the table to continue the process with his own trees.

“Alll RIGHT everyone! Push your bottom half of you rootstock aside--and we’re going to work with our scion now. So grab either your Mahagony or your dadap--whichever you chose as your scion--and pulled in front of you. The process here is going to be VERY similar to the other processes.” Paul grabbed his wand. “We’ll be cutting off the TOP of this tree to fit, almost like a puzzle piece, to the bottom of the other tree.”

He placed the next picture on the blackboard. Could everyone see it?

“Now, again, at a 45 degree angle...but this time...the opposite way as the other tree’s cut--does everyone see that and understand?” he pointed at the picture before...cutting his tree. He picked up the top and moved over to the bottom half of the other tree and….placed this piece on top. “See how the cuts fit together perfectly? Or near perfectly? That’s what we’re aiming for!” he smiled and moved back in position.

“JUUUUST like before, we have to make a tongue or a flap in this one. The flaps will fit into each other and...the new tree will then be able to reproduce with both sets of tree’s...genes, so to speak.” If that made sense? “So again, just cut STRAIGHT back for your flap!”

He set up the picture that accompanied this step.

“Be sure not to...if there’s any small branches or buds beginning to grow on top, leaves or ANYTHING...be very careful not to hurt those. It can prevent the new tree from forming correctly,” he said gently.

“Well, get to it! Same process as last time just...opposite! And make sure the two trees fit together all right! If they don’t, we may have to adjust some of the cuts! But please try to make the cuts so that the two trees will fit together well enough!”

OOC: Basically, the same steps as before just...oppositely xD You all are doing wonderfully and being patient with us/Paul LOL. For this part, same as before, 1 detailed post or 2 baby!posts! I’ll move on in 24 hours (maybe later, depending on my classes tomorrow)
