Personality: Yoongi is a vain person who likes to compliment himself constantly. He likes hearing praises about either his appearance or his ability and he would whine if he hasn’t heard someone compliment him for a while. But despite this, Yoongi is also a sweet guy who likes having fun and making friends.

Yoongi also cares about his skin very much and would often been seen putting on a variety of creams for his face to try and keep it flawless. He also has numerous lip balms as he has chapped lips that he tries to heal.
Background:
Born in Dongducheon in South Korea, he was born as Yeo Yoon Gi to a poor and muggle household. At an early age, his mother had left both him and his father due to family fights at the house leaving his father in a major debt which he had caused while gambling. Not able to provide any of the necessary for the child, Yeo Yoon Gi was put up for adoption at the Holt International Children Adoption Center.
He stayed here from the age of two till four when a family from England had come to visit. The Hyland family had been observing Yoongi for a few months after they overheard one of the workers at the adoption center that he was a bit strange. Things would disappear and reappear, Yoongi would lock the door on his own which was impossible because he couldn’t even reach the doorknob let alone turn it and one worker could have sworn she saw his stuffed animal levitating in the air while the little kid was staring at it. The Hyland family became intrigued by these talks and after a while they knew that Yoongi was special, a wizard , like them.
Some more time past by and after signing the official adoption papers, Yeo Yoon Gi was officially named Yoongi Hyland and went with his new family to Bedfordshire in England. Over the years, Yoongi became to realise that he was different than everyone in his family and soon he learned about the term of adoption. At first, his new parents were afraid he would want to go back or make a scene but none of that was true and Yoongi had quickly accepted it. This was his family who he knew and loved. Frankly, he couldn’t even remember his birth parent’s faces. The Hylands were relieved he took the news so well but decided to give him a small locket with a picture of his real parents on one side and a picture his adopted parents on the other. Till this day, Yoongi treasures this locket.
He grew up with three older sisters making him the youngest male in the family and all three of them already finished their education and had full time jobs. Elona the oldest sister worked as a curse-breaker at Gringotts. Victoria the second oldest worked at the Ministry of Magic as a portkey specialist and the third sister Ebony finished school during the summer and was currently making a vacation trip with a few of her friends.
Before attending Hogwarts, Yoongi spend his first four years in Charm School. A wizarding school in Great Britain that specialises in Charms. Because of this, Yoongi’s strongest subject is obviously Charms as he has more knowledge about this branch of magic. What Hogwarts students would learn in their fifth year, he learned in his fourth. But his adopting parents wanted him to learn more than just Charms and therefore Yoongi went to Hogwarts after receiving a letter he was accepted.
SPOILER!!: First year in his fifth year
Yoongi’s first year started off pretty good. That was until he started to realise that it was OWL year at Hogwarts and he NEEDED to study. He had transferred from Charms school and had therefore never taken subjects such as Astronomy or Divination since the focus in his previous school was mainly charms. And now he needed to do his exams in subjects he never had. That meant he had to study, a lot. Thanks to Zander Adair whom had given him his notes in the library, he studied day and night. He soon began to feel distant. He did not want to hang out with everyone and he was tired all the time. He finally lost his mind in Charms class one day and it was then that he told himself he needed to relax.
The relaxation was short lived though as Yoongi had been in the Great Hall eating and when he left to take some fresh air he stumbled upon three acromantulas in the Entrance Hall. Luckily, they had not seen him and he was able to slip away and that’s when Adi came in the picture. The giant spiders caught them hiding as another girl, Penelope, came to them and Yoongi ran away. He masked his running away out of fear and leaving the other two to deal with the spiders by telling them he was going to get help. But now he couldn’t hide himself as they were expecting help so the Gryffindor had ran to the office of the Defence Professor to call for help. Together with the Professor and Sophie , Yoongi gathered all of his courage and ran behind them , feeling horrible for abandoning the group.
The battle started and Yoongi was freaking out even more when the adults started to talk in military code. LIKE WHO USES THAT EVEN?! What he did understand though was that they had to get inside the Great Hall. Once there, a random scared Gryffindor girl Marsha whom Yoongi grew fond of did not want to leave his and Adi’s side until she had to when the hufflepuff Prefect and him signed up for the rescue team to search for the captured students and headmistress. The search terrified him and he once again wondered why one earth he was rescuing a bunch of strangers. Not to mention that the one he rescued had been very RUDE hmpf. His bravery surprised himself and he thought that after this whole ordeal he could handle anything. He was wrong.
Not a few weeks later, the Prefect event started. The idea was fun. Swimming , relaxing, no worries. But Yoongi wanted to prove that he wasn’t a coward who only acted brave when others were in danger. So he tried to go on the very high waterslide only to have his bravery backfire at him and he screamed in fear the whole time whole going down. That was when he made a deal with himself. He would get over his fear of heights next year.
