SPOILER!!: Adi
Time for some practice with that spell they had learnt from the last Charms lesson! Adi paused in front of the Charms Annexe to polish off a sour patch kiddy. Yes, yes, he knew they were for Benny but he was in the mood for something soury today. Was it abnormal for him to be eating sours instead of sweets? Yep but the Kiddies weren't always sour since they got sweet after a while. Anywaaay, he swallowed the treat and stepped into the room. Oh, hey, Puck! Adi waved to her before shuffling off in another direction. He wasn't going to disturb her from her practice.

The Hufflepuff came upon the three rows of moving targets. He stood as though transfixed, watching the rows. He decided to focus on the lowest row first. James had reminded him of something back at the Courtyard the other day... sometimes it was better to start off small. So, keeping that bit of advice in mind, he continued watching the row move, looking for a pattern so that it could make his target practice easier. Oh yeah! That reminded him... Adi looked around. There were the balloons they were to use! Right in the corner.

Right. Some more observing told him the pace of the targets and how often they changed direction. Now he was ready to start the practice! No, wait, wait! Adi had to ensure he had the incantation correct. "Alarte Ascendare, Alarte Ascendare, Alarte Ascendare.'' A few seconds of muttering the incantation and then brandishing his wand didn't hurt in the preparation. NOW he was ready. And a balloon too.

"ALARTE ASCENDARE!" BRANDIIIISH!

WOAH! Look at that balloon goooooo!

Maybe it was because he was not standing directly under the first row, maybe he had brandished the wand a little too much or maybe because Adi had said the incantation waaay too enthusiastically but...

SPLAT!!!

The balloon soared right past the bottom line of target, smacking into one in the second row and spattering the target and nearby ones with green paint. Woops. Not what he had aimed for but it would do.

Homework time was the worse time, BUT this one wouldn't be so bad because it was hands on. AJ actually didn't mind practicing spells because she really needed the extra help. With her being a fourth year she hoped that she wouldn't be struggling as much. So far she hadn't been that impressed with herself. Maybe that was a bit too harsh because she actually did really well with Airey's fun game in class where she was able to be the moon.

Her mind wandering habit needed to stop. Having focus was one of her downfalls when it came to spellwork. That and almost always being late to things. Whoops. AJ jogged into the annexe where she told Adi she would meet him. She wasn't that late, was she? "Hey, you." Lux got a warm smile from her too, but she was busy practicing so no full conversations now.

"Is the green paint your doings?" AJ bet it was. "Now that I am here we can get some real work done." And deep down she really wanted to work with Adi on this because catman said they couldn't work together during class. Well, how did he like THESE apples? Heh.

"ALARTE ASCENDARE... ALARTE ASCENDARE..." she mumbled to herself making sure that she was all warmed up so she could show her Hufflepuff boyfriend up. Now, all she needed to do was hit a target that just so happened to be moving. No problem. She had this in the bag.

"Alarte Ascendare." She brandished her wand as her eyes were on a target on the top row. Go big or go home. Up, up, up, annnnnd the target moved JUST before she could make contact. RUDE. Red paint was all over the ceiling. The spell had worked for her, and that was something. Better than whipping your wand around without any results whatsoever. She would take it.
