She was so glad that all the students seemed to enjoy the food and many got up to move around. From dancing to jogging at least they were trying! She gave them all snaps and beamed.

SPOILER!!: responses

Professor Cassie was nice, and that made Hayden feel a bit better. And first they were DANCING! Hayden shoved the rest of her food into her mouth before getting up. She wasn't a particularly good dancer, but at least she was having fun. Hayden finished chewing and swallowed before she raised her hand to answer the question.

"You can eat them all." She knew that definitely was not the answer professor Cassie was looking for but hey, she wasn't wrong.

The first person that took a stab at the answer was Hayden and she got a smile and snaps, “Yes you can eat them all, but that wasn’t quite what I was looking for.” Though it was a correct answer all the same.

Though he was VERY quick to jump to his feet at the mention of all the food stuff. Without a second more of waiting, Zander ran over to grab and plate and began piling up the food, skipping the vegitables of course. He also grabbed a bottle of water because he maybe sort of kind of forgot to read the notice board again. It was a very hard thing to remember to do, okay? And erm... Also took off his robe as he sat down. Merlin.

... Whut?

Was that a trick question? "Uh, they're all edible?" he offered with a raised hand. Yup, that's all Zander had.
Seeing the next hand go up, she smiled towards Zander. “They are all edible, you are correct. Again though not what I was looking for.” She did give him snaps though because he wasn’t wrong.

The introductions were stock standard, and he was mildly amused that his snap cup was read out. He WAS a third year now indeed. T'was cool. Food and drink though, he didn't have any yet, should he go get some? Get someone else to get some? Did they NEEED it for the lesson or was it just there as an option??? So many questions. In the end he exchanged a side glance with Hady. What was she planning to do about this?

Before he knew it though, they were being instructed to stand and to... dance?... and things. Uh huh. Okay. Righto.

Zeke remained seated.

Were they going to force him to do this to music? Or could he get away with sitting, OR... jogging? He could jog quite well. Reluctantly, he rose from his seat and did a little side-stepping thing, his arms flailing at his sides. Yep. He was moving.

And what did food and soda have in common???

"We can taste them?" he offered, a hand semi-raised as he continued to flail about.

She watched Zeke do his side steps and smiled approvingly, she didn’t care what the children did as long as they were moving. She had a reason for her crazy right now, they would soon see. “Yes we can eat everything I have out, though not what I was looking for. Good observation though.” That gained him snaps of course.

He did some stretching, jumping while putting on his hand in the air.

Everyone put your hands up and get your drinks up!

Okay, that's enough. He went back to his seat and answered the Professor. "Well, I think you did serve such a... healthy selection." Because there's milk, fruit, veggies.. Well, exclude the soda. It wasn't healthy. Too much sugar in there.
She looked at the food and beamed, she did serve up a very healthy variety didn’t she? “Thank you for noticing, I do love my health foods, though don’t get me wrong chocolate is my favorite.” She snapped for the boys answer before moving on.

No offense to the teacher, or to those who actually enjoyed Divination, but the little blonde didn't have the sight, or whatever you called it. Nope, no way. It just wasn't there. There were some people who had it and others who didn't, and the thirteen year old fell so hard into the second category she bruised herself coming down.

Piling her plate and taking out her soda, the short girl listened respectfully and gave snaps to each other her classmates. This was the one thing she could get behind. It was cool hearing what your classmates were proud of. Especially when it was something exciting, like making it to seventh year without detentions. Kudo's to whoever put that! She was tempted to laugh a bit, as Austin would never get to put that in the snap cup and for some reason she found that amusing. Even thought it totally wasn't.

AHEM.

The darker side of Divination? Was there a darker side? You could find out when someone died, or like maybe read a bad future, but that was really it. What else did this mumbo-jumbo really do, exactly?Getting up slowly from her seat and slipping some food into her mouth, Ophelia felt glad that they got to move around for a little bit. It would keep her from getting sleepy, and maybe the eating while moving would cancel each other out. Was that how digestion worked? Probably not, but whatever.

What did the food and drinks have in common. Peculiar question for a peculiar course. Well, a peculiar question got a strange answer, and this was Ophelia's.

HAND RAISE.

"Food and drink are both delicious and keep us healthy. Without food we wouldn't have the energy to dance or jump around like we're doing now." She stopped for a second to prove her point. "For example, this is the soda I just drank." She bopped up and down. "This is last nights supper." She made tiny punching motions, careful not hit anyone. "And this is what I just ate. "And she hopped with more vigor. Was that correct? Was she close? What did this have to do with Divination?
“Yes it does make us healthy.” Cassie chuckled and gave her happy snaps for the demonstration. “Food does do so many things for our body, very good.” The answers she was getting were very creative and very correct, but just not what she was looking for with this lesson.

Sure, she never understood the irrational side of this abstract subject like she understood logic and reason. But hey, Nat wasn't born with to be a seer, and she never planned to be one. The foremost plan right now is to pass the course and enjoy the experience!

What the food and drinks have in common? That was a peculiar question. "They both make us happy." Natalia responded while situated in her seat. No way was she going to dance or move around in front of everyone. She was perfectly comfortable where she was. "They keep us alive and make us happy." cc:
How could you not smile at this answer? It was so perf that Cassie snapped even more excitedly. “Food does make us happy, or at least it makes me happy. Maybe it doesn’t everyone, but really who doesn’t love food?” She glanced around chuckling to everyone. “Food does keep us alive, very good. Not quite what I was looking for, but great just the same.” Amazing job everyone so far.

Fun before they begin. Sounded fun. She was feeling happy and bubbly again. Standing up, she jumped and bounced as she thought about the next question. What did all of the foods have in common? Penelope stopped moving and stood very still, deep in thought. This was a divination lesson, and there was food, and the food was supposed to have something in common. "Can all of these foods be used for some form of divination?" That would make sense, seeing as this was a divination lesson.

Penelope was trying to think outside the box, which of course she got snaps for. “That is an interesting though, and you can learn many things about someone with what they eat, but it’s not the food that is the form of divination, but something that goes on with eating the food.” Could that be their hint to the way this was going?

And dancing! YEAAAH! The Puffer was not one bit good at dancing but he jumped right up and got himself moving. He probably looked silly but WHO CARED? Certainly not him! LOL. His hand was up and he replied, "They all taste good.''What?! Adi had no problems with veges.
Looking towards Adi, Cassie gave him a smile and snaps. “This selection does all taste good. Not quite what I’m looking for though, but great answer.”

Sitting at his table and eating his delicious food, the big puff heard the Professor reading out all the proud moment strips. I mean it was a good idea on the teachers part to do this. It made everyone feel special in their own way which is what you want right? Now onto the lesson. After finishing his meal, he heard Professor Cassie wanting them to get up and do some physical activity? What is with all the teachers making them do physical activities? I mean first Maddox and now her? Well if she insisted. He got up from his seat and started stretching. I mean he was gonna exert himself after finishing the food.

Professor Cassie asked them what does the food and drink all have in common? That is an interesting question. He shrugged and raised his hand, "Ermm the food and drinks are all used to give us energy?"
“Why thank you Kace, I’m glad you approve.” She did like that they could enjoy the food while learning. They just weren’t aware they were part of the learning at the moment. Hehe! Giving him snaps she nodded, “It does give you energy, but how is that related to Divination?” Giving another thing to think about, this was fun!

______
“They are very delicious Lux” Snaps went to her for pointing out how yummy these snacks were. “We won’t be doing a reading on the food per say, but we will be doing a reading with what goes on with the food.” Did that give too much away, she hoped not.

Rowan didn't see what clicking your fingers would do for anyone but she was ALL FOR anything that would make people happy, so she clicked along with the rest of the class as the professor spoke, and found herself grinning even bigger by the time they were done. Okay.. so it did work. Cool. Rowan liked this teacher.

.... Darker side? Were they going to do that? Cause Rusty wasn't too sure she wanted to know about the darker side. She was all about light and happiness, and when people's readings turned out bleak back home she did all she could to cheer them up afterwards, because she liked people being happy and things. She fiddled with the sleeve of her tie dye sweater as she thought about it... surely the professor wouldn't make them do anything really dark, right? So it'd be okay.

And now they were dancing?!!! Well that was one of Rusty's favourite things in the world to do! Especially because she had no hint of self consciousness about her, so she moved around, twirling and waving her arms and generally doing whatever she wanted, dance-wise, even if it did make her look a bit ridiculous. She didn't mind. She was having fun.

She wasn't sure exactly what all the food had in common, but she gave one of the older girls a funny look. Not enough protein? Rusty lived off a plant based diet, and she had enough protein, so it was fine, it was just about which fruits and nuts and soy and things you ate. "They're all vegetarian, professor?" Unless she had some of that sneaky cheese that wasn't... Rowan eyed the dairy suspiciously...
Looking to the first year she gave her snaps, “Very good all of this can be used for a vegetarian diet. Some may say the dairy is not, but I always eat cheese and drink milk.” So in her mind it was fine for vegetarians, since she had been one for many years now.

Angel got a little bit of a look for a moment before she got snaps, “I think you are a little confused by energy and hyperactivity. Sugar is the main source people say will cause hyperactivity, energy which we get from food is a little different.” Though it was still a good answer.

As the music began to play, Yoongi automatically moved his head on the beat and he was soon tapping his right feet on the ground and swaying a bit from left to right but he remained seated. “Smoothies” he answered. “Vegetable smoothie for example, you put some vegetables together, stir it until it becomes liquid and you can drink your food”

He seemed to gravitate to other cats and to cat people; Toby had often found him loitering up on the seventh floor. "Both of them, maybe." Toby had some wild ideas about borrowing his baby brother and bringing him to Hogwarts to show him off, but he was unlikely to actually put them into action. If anything, Javy might bring him to school one day, so it was a possibility. Or, maybe not, thinking about it.

Ahem, yeah, anyway. Toby was all nice and settled, chugging sipping on a soda and ready to get started. Even as he drank he snapped along with the moments from the snap cup, out of courtesy and 'cause it was a positive thing to do. He listened, staying tuned in with some difficulty because this was Toby, and paying attention never came easy. In fact, his mind had already started to wander to some of the food that was set out for them all when something in particular that Professor Cassie had said managed to get his attention alright.

Darker side. DARKER side? Did she mean dark as in... with negative connotations? Or more like... turning the lights off and doing readings in the dark? Was this going to be a sad lesson? Because Toby didn't want to do sad.

He listened, paying a little more attention now, perhaps because he was trying to listen for DETAILS on what this 'darker side' entailed. But she'd already moved on, and now they were... dancing. WELL... there was no way THAT could be negative, so everything was looking good so far. He leapt up out of his seat, bouncier than usual after that sugary soda, and began LEAPING around the classroom like a FAIRY PRINCE AT A BALL. Half dancing, half frollicking.

"All these food and drinks," he piped up after a particularly hilarious pirouette. "Keep us ALIVE."

Yes, Toby was being AGGRESSIVELY POSITIVE okay.
She watched Toby doing his dancing a bit and clapped excitedly. What a great sport to do this with the class. Many seventh years would not be so brave. “They are all food and drink and keep us alive. Very good.” He did get snaps as well for that.

Food was always good.

Dancing though she didn't know. However she rose to her feet and with another look towards Zeke ended up grinning at what he was doing. Raising her hand she gave the only answer that came to mind. "They give us energy?" It was true really whether it was fruits and milk or soda it gave you energy.

Now back to this moving about stuff...she was half tempted to ask Zeke to dance with her but she didn't simply chewing on her lip instead and not exactly moving much.
Looking to another student that answered Cassie smiled, “Very good, they do give us energy.” Happy snaps went to Hady.

"They make up the food groups?" And even once she said it she knew it was wrong as she mentally calculated the food groups "Dairy, Fruits, Grains, Meat, Vegetables, Water, and Confections" Sighing she just continued to bounce about.
Hmm, now this was an interesting answer. She looked to the food again before snapping and smiling. “These do make up the food groups, yes, but again not quite what I was looking for.” Great guess though, everyone was doing so well.

She watched them move around for a few more minutes before giving a clap. “Alright, very good. Please find your seats again. That is just enough amount of movement for now.” She beamed knowing the body would have moved the digestive system around just enough. “Now many of you have mentioned food being healthy, good, a party type of meal. All very good answers, but not quite what I’m looking for today. There is something that helps a Diviner with what we will be learning about today that involves all of these things. Every thing I picked today was for a reason, that reason is it is a gassier type food.” Stopping she paused for the giggles and whatever else the young minds thought about the word gassier. “There is a form of Divination that deals with the sounds of the stomach. It has been used in two different ways. One way which we will try and another which we are about to discuss.”

“I would like you to forget all the manners your parents taught you when it comes to bodily noises just for this class. I’m not saying it’s okay to make those noises just for a laugh, but if it does happen we can just say it’s for educational reasons. Now many, many years ago this form was only used in a more darker setting.” She flicked her wand and the music went off and the lights went lower.

“In 1652 and before this form was used to take omens from the belly, it was considered one of the ancient forms of ventriloquism, because the noises were said to be the sound of someone talking. The noises were more a of a fear for demons in someone and it was very common to see a Diviner over a grave in a cemetery speaking in a voice that sounded low and hollow. Can anyone tell me what this form of Divination is and why would they use it on someone who had already passed on?” She leaned against the table grabbing another piece of cheese before looking for someone to call on.
