This month's Professor hails to us from Madrid, Spain, and his enchanting smolder will make you weak at the knees! You know him as the massive tree-like figure strutting around the grounds of Hogwarts, caring for our creatures - he's Javier "Javy" Thompson!

Professor Thompson is a highly-skilled magizoologist and potioneer, having double majored in Cryptozoology/Magizoology and Potions at Madrid's Wizarding University. He has also volunteered at animal shelters and worked as an ingredients harvester, but it's undeniable that his job here at Hogwarts has been his greatest milestone and truly changed his life for the better.

In the fall of 2082, Professor Thompson took on the position as our Care of Magical Creatures professor. His relaxed personality and charm have made him a favorite of many students, but his primary strengths shine most brightly in his teaching methods. Examples of this are seen in his short lectures and hands-on activity time, keeping his students interested throughout the duration of his lessons. He also takes a methodical yet easy-to-understand approach in his explanations of the best ways to care for the diverse selection of creatures he teaches about. It cannot be easy keeping large classes of tween to teenagers safe from the dangers of said creatures, but there is such a great respect for Thompson that never has there been an unfortunate accident under his supervision. The respect is mutual, as he makes sure his students know that his office door remains open for those seeking professional guidance, and he would never turn down the opportunity to be of assistance to those in need.

A Muggleborn and former Ravenclaw, Professor Thompson is well-recognized as the epitome of tall, dark, and handsome, but sorry, ladies - he's taken by former Hogwarts Charms Professor Pierson Fuller! The two have been the best of friends since they were teenagers at Hogwarts, and it was only a matter of time before they tied the knot, which finally happened just last year! The pair now have two sons, Tobias and Curtis Fuller-Thompson, and judging by the Professor's increasing expressions of joy through his work, he seems to be living the dream!

It's really only a matter of time before he takes his work closer to home, so let's cherish every class we spend with this overgrown teddy bear before we inevitably lose him to his beautiful family.
