Kate had always thought Herbology was interesting. Some people saw it as just growing plants, but not Kate. Kate liked how all the plants were basically used as potions, and she knew how important potions were. Also, there was the fact that a lot of magical plants were forces to be reckoned with. Valentina continued walking next Beverly, until reaching their seats. The young Gyffindor was extremely socially selective, therefore her effort to speak to other students was low...very low.
Glancing around she eyed those who were already here and those who were barely arriving as well. Here were two ladies who knew where they were going. And they were going together! Archie smiled at them both, but apparently only one was in the mood for greeting him. In fact, the quiet girl was looking at him rather funny... "Hello to you both." He nodded back. Quote:

Making her way towards the room she was rather glad she wore her hoodie underneath her robes today. It was a little bit cool outside. Not freezing but cool enough to give her a small chill which she wasn't all that thrilled about. Fidgeting a little bit with the pendent around her neck Hady glanced about as she entered the greenhouse. It seemed to look the same as usual.
"Hello Professor." Hady greeted warmly making her way for an empty seat she slipped herself onto it setting her bag at her feet. Now all she needed was for class to start. Even mooooooore kids. The young student's brightness bounced right off of Archie and he grinned widely back at her. "Well, good morning to you!" He chuckled as she found a seat. Excited to learn. That's what he liked to see. Quote:

His second best class pretty much and his girlfriend's all-time favorite subject matter. Which may or may not have any influence on the effort he gave to the class, at least after his former head of house Professor Bentley was no longer teaching the class. It would be interesting to see how the new professor handled lessons....even if the man wasn't new to staff. Benny himself hadn't had any real interactions with the groundskeeper before.
Entering the assigned greenhouse, the Gryffindor noticed quite a few people already there, including the professor, Adi, Angel and AJ. Seemed he was the last of their little group to arrive downstairs for the lesson. A downfall of having to go back and retrieve something when he had been halfway down. "Good day, Professor," he greeted before heading to take a seat next to Angel.
"Hey..." he greeted her and the other two nearby. Checking his watch again, Archie edged a little closer to the door to get ready to close it. But it looked like there were STILL people coming. What did that student just call him? Professor person. How rude. "Errr..." He said quietly, but he covered it with a polite smile. "Just Professor Millard will do, thank you." This kid looked like he could do with a sit down and a calm down. Maybe with a book? Quote:

Entering the greenhouse, the Slytherin gave Millard a 'sup nod while saying, "Hey, Professor!" Seat? Yeah, he was gonna go and sit riiiiiight over there in that empty seat that was close to the back of the greenhouse. This was where the cool people sat, obviously. "Hello there, young sir!" Archie wasn't sure where this sir thing was coming from, but he didn't like it. He watched the Slytherin slither all the way to the back of the greenhouse. Oh, we see how it is. Quote:

Spotting his best friend, Zander in the crowd, Kevin immediately walked towards him and sat down next to him. "Ay man" he greeted and it was then that he noticed the Professor standing near the door. He knew he had been the Groundskeeper as well but he had never seen him before so close. "He's so short" he whispered to the Prefect and laughed. Not being greeted seemed to be out of the question at this school, so when the very last student popped into the room without a word, he was a little surprised. Archie nodded his head anyway, but he didn't even seem to notice. And SLAM, went that door!!
Probably the best way for this short man to make a statement, he supposed. He cleared his throat and made his way back to the front of the greenhouse. "Hello, everyone." Archie's arms were raised for a moment, as if he was trying to let the students know that he was actually standing there. Hello?!? Yes. Let's begin. "For those of you who don't know me," Which they SHOULD because he was here last year... who was he kidding, these kids didn't know him. "My name is Professor Millard." Heh. Professor. "As well as being your groundskeeper, I am also your new Herbology professor. Please try and keep noise to a minimum. I don't have the loudest voice in Hogwarts!" Archie let out a short snort!chuckle.
He soon stopped laughing and pretended to pass it off as a cough.

"Anyway. Excuse me." He finally clapped his raised hands together, then placed them behind his back. "As this is our first lesson together, I would like to learn your names as best as I can. I've got a roll of blank stickers, so if you could all write your name on there and stick it on your robes, that would be very helpful!" Archie passed the roll of stickers to the first person on his right.
"Anyway... moving onto Herbology..." So much to say for such a little voice box. Nervous, little voice box. Archie paused to breath in the air of plant excretion. It was GOOD for you, you know. "Such a WIDE subject, really... today we are going to, I suppose, carry on slightly from last term's lessons with your last professor." The lovely Andy. He was nice from what Archie knew of him at least. He didn't know him.
"Before we look at actual plants today, I want to ask you all a simple question. What is a toadstool? Please, feel free to expand on your answer. I'm looking for different types, characteristics, uses... everything!" Archie clapped again, (was this becoming a thing?) which meant GO... basically. ooc: Class has officially started! Any latecomers from this point will lose points. Just pretend you have been here the whole time! Will be continuing tomorrow afternoon-ish.
