Well, didn't Mr. Kingsley take the words right out of her mouth? Mariel had gotten to the Magic Carpet booth just in time to view Ms. Carter's presentation. Merlin, those Muggle devices were annoying and she had to suppress an eyeroll at the sight of it. But besides the point, Kingsley was spot on. She would not see the day that brooms were banned and they had been around for years with appropriate regulation.

Stepping a little closer to the candidates, she leveled her gaze to Roxanne. No, she did not particularly care for the woman but she wasn't here to start anything. Mariel was genuinely interested in what candidates had to say about Magic Carpet legislation, especially after the Symposium. The older woman best have learned a thing or two about keeping her hands to herself, however, or she very well would be pressing charges this time. "But with proper regulations and essential charms put in place to ensure they are not viewed by Muggles, wouldn't you agree that flying carpets are an effective form of transportation, especially for those with families." Though she wasn't so sure that Ms. Carter had any children so she possibly couldn't relate.

Turning to the rest of the candidates - the ones that appeared in favor of lifting the current ban on flying carpets, she listened attentively to their views, nodding here and there as she agreed on several points. "If you don't mind," she began to the candidates. "What safety measures would you put in place to ensure safety to minors? I think Mrs. Culloden has a good point about imposing an age restriction and a license, but as magic carpets would likely attract families because of their capability to hold quite a few people, I'm interested to hear how to maintain safety for young children who might be with their parents as well." Just the thought of it made her slightly nervous.. which was an odd feeling to her. But she didn't want to think of a baby falling off.

Oh and there was Saxon. She got a smile and nod before Mariel turned her attention to the candidates again. "And if any of you were elected to be Minister, what steps would you take to help convince the rest of the public that this is indeed a viable and beneficial form of travel, and to work towards lift the ban?" Because the Minister wasn't a Dictator, he didn't just say what he was going to do and then do it. There was always a process for everything, especially changing laws that had been put into place for years.
