Eh.

BUT QUESTIONS! HE HAD THEM! Hand up AGAIN, Zeke waited to be called upon before letting the words spill out. "Professor, if you say, shrink an enemy or whatever, does everything on their person shrink too? Like, do their wands shrink? And if their wands shrink, can they still use them in shrunken form, or will the magic be weaker?" Serious gonna-take-over-the-world questions here.
He might have only been joking in his assumption that people--outside of first years--didn't know the spell...until he caught sight of Mister Rogers tapping his jar. Kid was doing so well before. Sigh.

"It's not a tap, Mister Rogers. Tapping won't get you anything but noise with that incantation. The wand movement is an 'S'." Just for clarification because the jar still needed cleaning.

"But to answer your question yes, everything on the individual would also be shrunken down to scale in keeping with the proportions. That being the case the wand would also shrink and produce an 'inferior' form of magic." So basically, the bloke would be rendered helpless and in need of someone else removing the charm, unless it simply wore off, though not many would opt to wait that long.

She knew she was lousy at explaining things, which is why she could never be a Professor, so she grabbed her own wand again, pointed it at her jar, and said "Scourgify," to show the young snake what it looked like.

"Give it a go," she said kindly. It was a school, for learning things. Practice makes perfect!
Maddox thought he'd seen the last of that little mishap--easy enough mistake for a Second Year-- until he caught Miss Burton not only making the same mistake but instructing the younger students to do the same. The Professor rubbed at his face, willing himself to believe it was just his imagination talking but no, she instructed Mister Weller to 'tap'.

Did he need to make another note on the board?

"What you actually mean, as I'm sure Miss Burton, is that you utter the incantation while producing an 'S' shaped wand movement." Sixth year and thinking Scourgify was a 'tap', Circe help him. The Professor looked to the First Years who'd sought her counsel (Cahira and Scott). "I don't want to see either of you tapping the jar. The movement is as such." He lifted his own wand to drawn an 'S' through the air. "Understood?"

Remembering a simple point movement was easy. Plus, her jar was now perfectly clean. Now all that was left was finding out what they were going to be using it for. Obviously they were going to be shrinking something. But was whatever it was going in the jar or were they shrinking the jar. Important things to find out, but she wasn't going to ask.
He was beginning to think they were doing this on purpose when yet another student botched up the wand movement. Had to be on purpose, they weren't First Years. Maddox sighed, feeling the effects of a poor night's sleep all over again. "You do not point Miss Andrews. The wand movement is an 'S' shape as you cast."

Did the jar look any cleaner to her? Because it didn't to him from up here.

Domino was glad she wasn't the only one who had a weird answer. The jar. She got up and headed over
She collected her jar.
"Thankyou," she muttered to the professor and sat back down.
Scourgify...what does that mean? Ask somome else. Domino crossed her arms and glanced aroun d makinf an accidental rasberry noise in the process.
What was that? Turning to the source of the noise, he caught the Slytherin with her arms folded and the jar...well just as she'd taken it from the box he was willing to bet. Maddox raised a brow at her. "Is there a problem Miss Emery?" One that prevented her from following instructions?

This was boring, when could they fight that bigger opponent huh?
Eh...he didn't want to have to respond to this one. He wasn't the sharpest tool in the box and Maddox didn't feel her earned any form of reply. Did he think he was stupid? Most definitely but it was hardly worth explaining why. The man couldn't be bothered. It was far too much effort.

What he COULD be bothered with, however, was accio-ing back the jar even after the Gryffindor had cleaned it. Maddox placed the repossessed jar on his table before giving Kevin a calm look. "Come and get it, like everyone else did."

The Professor was still watching to be sure everyone else was getting on fine with the wand movement now that he'd corrected when he heard another question. "This charm, like most all others does not last forever on it's own. If you want prolonged and sustained use you would have to be casting periodically. How powerful the cast is determines how long the spell lasts before needing to be renewed."

Something the man who'd placed stunning spells on his Nundu should have remembered. Oh well.

"Well, Professor, about long does the charm's effects last on the object/person? Just for reference." [/B]She asked calmly. Trying to...be calm. She blushed a little because she asked questions so rarely--but yeah.

Spell time! Writing the spell down carefully in her notebook, she proceeded to go get a jar. She could have summoned it--really--but Eden didn't want to seem........lazy. Her jar was only..half dirty. Well. She plopped down in her desk once more and whipped her wand out all...professionally....okay..."Aguamenti!" she pointed her wand at the jar, the water from her wand tip seemed to do juuuuuuust the trick on the dirt. Wheeee.

But now she was thirsty. O_O

Also. She raised her hand again as she heard Professor Quigggglewqidhfiuhef however you SAID his name bite into another apple. And...yeah. This was a valid question and JUST as important as her other one. "Professor, if you're going to eat in class, I think we should be allowed to eat in class, too." She was starving. Eden was always starving....her stomach also decided to give a convenient UUUURRGHHHHH right at the moment, and she raised her eyebrows at him.

Fairness, Professor?
Another question pertaining to the duration of the spell. "That all depends on the caster Miss McGee and the intent when casting. Generally it can be anywhere from a few hours to a couple days...months" Intent and power, they counted for a lot when casting this and any charm. It was a standard rule right there.

But then something else caught his attention and the man had to hold in a sigh. "I had asked that you 'Scourgify' the glass, not fill it with water." This was probably as bad as all those students who thought tapping was the wand movement.

Maddox lowered his apple. "It.....is 9 am Miss McGee. You are all coming from breakfast down in the Great Hall. Have the elves been skimping on food recently? Have they not cooked to the capacity that your bellies can be filled?" If not, they could take it up with the Headmistress.

"Because I'm the Professor and I make the rules." He said nonchalantly before taking another bite. "I can't imagine why you'd be hungry at this hour when you lot are coming from Breakfast." It was only after 9 am. The Great Hall was full to bursting with food as it always was. Hunger, should have been the least of their complaints.
