Text Cut: A few of the people who wrote their names
Cosgrach was a man to sometimes always keep his word, so he carefully read every name that the students wrote. And then there were some that caught his attention, so while everyone was cleaning their materials, he went to them all.

...was that even an OFFICIAL surname?

......"Are you British?" How did you read that? Did you read that?

This one was eager, eh? Cosgrach chuckled and almost asked him to make it bigger, but then he remembered he was a first year and if he lost his concentration, it could be deadly.

Maybe he should joke later. Yeah.

...

.......please tell him she used 'Ruby'.

Cosgrach didn't even HIDE that he couldn't read her second name and he approached the girl almost in fear.

"Which name do you prefer?" he asked as politely as he could.

Surely... Ruby?

Starting from this girl.

Her name looked pretty Scottish, but who knew? She knew, and he intended to ask it.

"Where are you from?" he directly asked, though in a friendly tone. He was Scottish too, see!? And they were in Scotland, too.

Yo, mate!

So he wasn't a Duncan, but Declan?

Tehee. Hehehe.

"At least I got the general idea of it right," he said cheekily at the boy. At least he tried to remember... no?

While he was visiting some students, he heard this and that one's struggle and had a mind to do the spell for them, but he was a teacher and that didn't exactly teach... besides, he couldn't clean their stuff every time before using, could he? He also couldn't stop the class to teach them himself, so...

"Can someone help these lil students with cleaning spell?"

There. He was such a great professor!

GOOD that she looked so EMBARRASS -

Oh, but Cosgrach's face betrayed him, and soon he was grinning.

"Don't worry, I won't kill ya," he said, "Jus' a simple greeting would suffice if you'll come to my lessons." For future reference, in case she didn't know.

The boy's question illuminated Cosgrach suddenly.

What if - what if some of the students had failed in the past because they didn't know the exact ingredient? Now, they should observe the others and add whatever everyone was adding, or ask, but anyway - it was a possibility, no? Yes. Thanks to this kid, Cosgrach could see it clearly, and was going to start doing that. Starting right now.

"Jobberknoll feather is this!" He pulled one from the kid's kit and twirled around for everyone to see.

Clear? GOOD.

Cosgrach didn't hear the words or anything, but he saw her do the spell (probably teaching it too) and lift the feather to show what it was.

Tiny to the rescue!

Smiling pleasantly at both of them, he announced "Three points to Ravenclaw for helping a student." She must have got very used to those, huh, since she got such points in every lesson?

...no...

She could cast an unknown spell or whatever didn't she KNOW wands were to be DISTRUSTED NO NO NO -

"Miss Kettleburn," he said in a strained tone, "please don't wave your wand like that. The spell is simple. Scourgify." He even DID it to show her HOW.

Pleasepleaseplease.

Gabriel cleaned his hands before holding the feather; Sophie directly levitated it and Thornton used gloves." He paused to let that sink in. "It doesn't matter with the feather much, but please do any of these three methods in the future."

So the heart would feel the emotions that aligned with what the head already knew needed to be done? That seemed logical and all.

Who she thought she was to questioning Mr Culloden's lesson?

Cosgrach opened his mouth to answer the boy, but then Lux questioned him too, and soon Benny and Anabeth had joined them. Sophie defended him, as usual, and he nodded at her silently - he was waiting to hear them all, see. He was very grateful for her support and was going to agree.

Right after he dealt with Kyroh.

Cosgrach laughed. He didn't want to offend the little guy, but seriously - his suggestion was epic!

"I don't think such a potion exists, Kyroh," he said in a somewhat sorry voice, "but if you want to discuss it, you can visit me later."

Now, onto the... real discussion.

"What Sophie said," he began, "it can help you to see the real bad side of a crooked relationship and clear your mind. It also has another effect that I'd say in the end," but it didn't matter that he mentioned it now, "and it was that it makes you speak... let's say, harshly, to that person. So you hate them, and they might hate you." It was a terribly evil potion and Sophie did her best to make it meaningful.

"And sometimes people create potions just for the fun of it. An evil prank, or an experiment to see just how potent emotional potions are. Or to see how a human mind works. Or, going with evil minds, it can end a healthy relationship too. Slipped in your cup by a jealous lover you've been ignoring, and..."

Shrug. Was it enough of reasons?

She felt kind of bad that she had so many questions because she didn't want to bug him,but she was really curious.
Of course it was Hayden asking such a great question!

Cosgrach smiled at her.

"The jobberknoll feather is primarily used in memory potions," he started - could she tell he really enjoyed this? - "and in this potion, to create hate, we need bad memories. But we can't just tell which one to wake up, so we wake up all the memories and eliminate the good ones if there are any with leech head." Was it clear? "And for this one, water has the effect of diluting, but we want the jobberknoll feather and unicorn tail hair to react fully, so we'll add water later."

So it was Hugo. Got it.

As for his question, Cosgrach shrugged. "Up to you. You'll have two options for the homework, so really..." He wasn't FORCING anyone, see? He was a great professor.

Heh.

"It's temporary, of course." No matter how they messed it up, this potion was safe in that.

After much debate, the Gryffindor finally set his hand up in the air for good. He had decided. He was going to ask, then possibly regret it depending on how this went over. “Professor, if this potion makes you hate the person you see first… Is it with the anger you already have built up? Or is it newly mustered hatred?” He raised an inquisitive brow, SEEEE he could be inquisitive too. “I guess I mean, can it be used to take all your anger-that you already have-out at someone or does it just make you angry out of no where?” You know.. just asking for a friend....
...

......what even was he trying to -

About time. About time he decided! Cosgrach wondered just WHAT he would ask after all the indecision and...

oooooooh nooooooo -

"It is newly mustered hatred," he said suavely, "because the first person you see can be a total stranger." And he couldn't even think of that? HAH. No wonder he was a Gryffindork.

"But you'll learn this question's real answer after class, while cleaning this lab for me." Did he think it was funny to squeeze that stupid remark about Professor CULLODEN in? Score himself a girl or two? Well, not in this class.

"They call it 'detention', I prefer 'discussion'." Discussing whether he was an angry person and IF yes, going deeeeeep into his chiiiildhood to find the reason.

Who knew what the professor became during a discussion?

Cosgrach paused briefly, returned to his seat and tapped the blackboard for the second step.

"Lay half the unicorn hair," he grabbed a unicorn hair while he said that, "onto the feather. Don't just drop it, but lay it vertically over the feather." So that it touches everywhere, yeah? He grabbed a feather, and demonstrated.

Clear?
