My cousins have been told off enough for it though." And being the smart cookie she was, Alexa was always willing to learn from the mistakes of others.

Maybe just one more slice? Yeah....? There. Next she grabbed two thin slices of swiss cheese and laid them on diagonal to each other. "Would the elves mind you having a look when you get home?"

Of course the beef would come here. Just stacking til it looked right which was right....about....now! Chicken, beef--ham would be next but not before she added a layer of lettuce, onions and tomatoes then a spread more of mayo. Ham on it was another layer of cheese topped on cheese before the tippy top got the turkey and the other end of her bread. Only reason she'd stopped was her jaw was starting to hurt just looking at it. A sure fire sign you had a good sandwich.

Lex regarded his sandwich with a grin. "Epic! See? Nothing to it." Hardest part was eating it, but this she had perfected too, squishing it down where she could then opening as well as possible. "Perfection." Though with a full mouth it probably sounded more like 'PrrfmMfmn'.
Thornton shrugged. "It's not really up to the elves, though," he replied softly. If Mother said somewhere was offlimits, that was it. He supposed he could ask, but holiday meals over the break would be notoriously complicated and hectic, given their entertaining, so it would have to wait until summer.

And Thornton didn't much like that idea either. Perhaps he could watch the elves here prepare a meal. Who would he even need to ask permission from?

Thorton smiled, though, at her appraisal of his sandwich. He allowed her to try hers first, giggling out of instinct at her response, but quickly covered his mouth to try to stop. It was rude to laugh at someone else's behavior like that.

Now, it was his turn. Picking up the sandwich, Thornton screwed his face up in concentration. This was a big sandwich, and he had such a tiny mouth. There was no way to eat this in a dignified manner! He kept rotating it in his hands, thinking that maybe, just maybe, he could find a thin spot. But, he could not. Finally, and only because he could see no way around it, Thornton opened his mouth as wide as it could go and tried to cram the sandwich in.

Crumbs stuck to his lips, he smiled, his cheeks puffed out like a chipmunk. Thumbs up!
