Pem was enjoying her lunch of fresh salad and veggies as she people watched the employees of the Ministry as they moved around the cafeteria. There were so many people to watch the young employee didn't know where to look first.
Her first day had started off a little rocky. She had been unsure of what to do when she arrived and had awkwardly hung out in the reception area of her level until she had been greeted by an overly enthusiastic employee followed by Alex who made her feel more at ease.
That was nothing that a nice plate full of vegetables couldn't solve. She had to get over her awkwardness somehow. Sometimes having such a quiet voice was difficult.
It had been a good first day so far! All they had done up on level one so far was have a small party, and Esp had enjoyed mingling with her coworkers. Most of them seemed nice, if a little awkward: not everyone was good with meeting new people, she reasoned.
But now it was time to eat. It might be difficult finding a spot to eat, but maybe she would spy one of her new coworkers or acquaintances. Grabbing a sandwich, she scanned the room and-oh! There was Pem, sitting alone! Esper walked over to her friend and set her tray down, popping into the seat across from her.
"Hi, Pem! Can I sit here?" she asked, mostly as a matter of politeness, as she was already quite comfortable in the seat.
"I'm so excited that we're both working here!" Her friend was a sweetheart, AND their cats were basically siblings.
